Work is meant to help us create the life we want, be some of us are comprising the lifestyle we want because we were taught that real success is having a job. So after we've invested 12 years of our life, and maybe more if you've went to college, we come out with one mission... get a job. We never stop to think about the life we want and how we can come up with a strategic plan to use work to create the life we truly desire. School and our loved ones have taught us to focus on the job only, and very little lessons are taught (if any) on investing in our own growth and development, in relationships, and all the other things in life. We spend a lot of time being tunnel visioned, and only once we retire are we able to feel like we have the freedom to live our lives the way we desired. Why wait? For a long time we've been told that we have to study our competitors and make sure we're not falling behind the curve. There's the sense of measuring your companies success based on other companies in your profession. Also, a perception that in order to be competitive in the marketplace, you have to strategically do better than those other companies so that you can steal their clients away from them. In our experience, this has never been the case. We've studied our so called "competitors" not to steal clientele but to understand what clients look for and what they value. In these days, the competitors even let you know what they're doing to be successful so that you can learn and grow in your business. With the competitive market, it may not be as competitive as we were taught. Although some professions require a lot of planning to get it off the ground, getting the momentum started can be very simple. Don't overthink it, don't let fear stop you or hinder you, don't wait until everything is perfect, but take the simplest steps to get started. You could get the momentum going by simply telling someone, or start creating sample work to display on social media, offer your services for free to build credibility, and there are so many other creative and efficient ways to get started. No-one starts a new company perfectly, you will make mistakes, you will face obstacles, no matter if you learn everything you need to know about your profession, no matter if you have the latest equipment and the best team, and no matter if you start today or wait tomorrow, you won't be able to eliminate all the obstacles so jump in and get started.
