This is the audio podcast version of my Legend of Zelda fan fiction novel, The Era Without A Hero. Set a hundred years after the events of Ocarina of Time, Hyrule is enjoying its longest recorded time of peace in history. However, when tragedy strikes at the annual Swordsman Festival, a new threat rises and a foul wind begins to blow across the land.

    Chapter 7 - The Woes of the Kokiri

    Hello, and welcome back to The Era Without A Hero! It's been a while since I released an episode, and I apologize for that. Sometimes life gets in the way and there's nothing we can do about that. With that being said though, I also want to point out that this is not the first in a string of new episodes just yet. I'm releasing this now as a special bonus in conjunction with Linktober's Zelda Creator Con. What better way to get more people invested than with a new episode, right? There are new episodes being worked on, but please have patience with me as I get them together. Previously on The Era Without A Hero, Osmond joined the illustrious legion known as the Knights of Hyrule. He went before the Sage Council and was given a task to perform as a sort of test. He said his goodbyes to some, and departed with the Sage of Wind, Fado, and the Princess Zelda. They journeyed south into the Faron Region of Hyrule, where the Kokiri Forest awaited them.     Chapter 6 - Departures

    Hello and welcome to the Era Without A Hero Podcast! If this is your first time listening to the show, I recommend going back to the beginning and picking up the story from there. This show is put out every other week, with each new episode being a continuation of one big story. Special thanks this week go out to Andy and Taylor for having me on their show, The Champions' Cast. I went on there this past week and talked about creating a perfect Zelda x Fire Emblem style game. It was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend giving them a listen for more topical Zelda talk. Next, I have to thank Carmen V for the glowing comments that were left on the Main Theme video over on YouTube. The comments were so touching and inspiring. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the upcoming paralogue stories that will begin accompanying these stories sometime after Season 1 ends. One big announcement that did make it in this week though, was concerning the music of TEWAH. I have so far created two original songs and covers of a few more but I'm working on coming up with a theme for Adok. Once I do that, I'll officially announce that an Official TEWAH Soundtrack will be available. No further details are available yet, but it's something to keep in mind might be in the near future! Previously on The Era Without A Hero, Osmond awoke a month after Adok's assault on Castletown. Wounded, he met Impa who in turn introduced him to the King, Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule. Daphnes then gave Osmond a Knight's Crest, a symbol of the Knights of Hyrule, and sent him off to meet with the Sages. After seeming to pass the Sages test, they arranged for him to travel south to the Kokiri Forest with Fado. Just as the meeting was about to end though, the Queen announced that her daughter would be joining the young knight on his journey. Thank you for listening and enjoy the show!

    Chapter 5 - The Knights of Hyrule

    Hello! Welcome to the Era Without A Hero Podcast! If this is your first time listening to the show, hit the pause button and go back to the beginning because this is an episodic tale. Every two weeks, the next chapter in this epic is released and you don't want to miss anything. Some quick announcements! First, in the near future there's going to be some smaller stories added in. Most likely, this won't happen until after Season 1 is completed, but if I get the time, I might see if I can get one or two in before that. These paralouges are going to be short stories from within the story so far. For example, by the end of the first season, we will have met the Kokiri, the Gorons, and the Zora races. One of the first things I ever wrote for TEWAH was called "A Short History of the Goron's" and it told the story of what happened with their race between Ocarina of Time and the current times. There's also a bit of this week's chapter that I cut out because I didn't feel like it was needed, but I'm keeping it in case I want to use it as a paralouge. Last time on TEWAH, Adok's assault left Castletown in chaos and ruin. Osmond, Aldwin, and Sir Ralphine escaped only to find out the Princess was still in danger. After splitting up to search for her, Osmond and Aldwin found her and a boy she'd saved. They were overwhelmed though and Aldwin made the decision to hold off the horde of monsters while Osmond took Zelda and the boy to safety. However, Zelda refused to run away and Aldwin lost concentration for a moment, allowing the Stalfos an opening to land a mortal blow. With his mentor dead, Osmond was knocked unconscious defending the Princess...     Chapter 4 - Adok's Assault

    Welcome back to The Era Without A Hero! Some quick announcements, very special thanks to @MajorLinkSean and @AldenPapritz for their input via twitter about the song at the end of this week's episode. Last time on TEWAH, Osmond progressed through the timed round of the Swordsman Tournament and found himself in the semi-finals against the mysterious Adok of the West. However as soon as he and Adok were squaring off, Adok revealed himself to be more than a gifted swordsman. Using dark magic, he launched an all out assault on the Royal Family and Castletown.     Chapter 3 - Swordsmen and Sages

    Welcome to the Era Without A Hero Podcast! If this is your first time listening, I'd highly recommend going back to the beginning and catching up. Last time, we got to spend some more time with many of our characters as they enjoyed the festivities of the Swordsman Festival. When we ended, Osmond found himself preparing to enter the Swordsman Tournament for the very first time after having been a fan for years. With some advice from his best friend and mentor, Aldwin, as well as a celebrity swordsman, Sir Ralphine, Osmond was as prepared as he'd ever be. In this chapter, we'll get to see how Osmond does in the tournament, as well as get to know a few of the Sages of Hyrule. A mysterious man named Adok, who's also in the tournament, seems to be making some waves as well though. This week, I'm also debuting the Main Theme for the series.     Chapter 2 - The Tournament

    Welcome to The Era Without A Hero Podcast! If this is your first time listening, I'd highly recommend going back and starting at the beginning. Last time, we met several important characters including Osmond, King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, Queen Zelda, and Princess Zelda. All things were abuzz as Castletown was preparing for the 100th Swordsman Festival. In this chapter, we get to know some of the characters better. We also get a peek at the very start of something very sinister and very ominous. As a word of caution, there is a bit of violence related to this incident, and it won' t be the last time. The intro song is a version of Zelda's Lullaby that I recorded for this show. The outro music is from ZREO (Zelda ReOrchestrated).     Chapter 1 - The Swordsman Festival

    Hello everybody! Welcome to The Era Without a Hero Podcast! This week, we start in on the tale on the eve of the Swordsman Festival. In this chapter, you'll meet Osmond, a carpenter's apprentice who longs to be a knight, Henry, Osmond's uncle, Aldwin, his tutor, the three members of the Royal Family, and a few other important people.  This is the first glance at Hyrule since Ganon was sealed away, and I like to think that it's a study on how a hundred years of peace makes a society shift their values.
