    Legends of the DCU Episode 2 (Legacy #441) – The Ruler of Hell

    This week on The Legends of the DCU Podcast! Drew Leiter and Cletus Jacobs go to Hell in the Sandman. Batman’s investigation into the grotesque “Abomination” project erupts in Issue #9 as he uncovers a trail of mutilated victims and traces it back to Ark M, where he’s forced into a brutal confrontation with the first experimental monster. Issues #10–12 push Bruce deeper into the conspiracy as he discovers Bane’s twisted rebirth, the weaponization of Waylon Jones, and the revelation that Gotham’s elite have been funding a program to manufacture the perfect predator—using Batman’s own physiology as the blueprint. It’s an odd little educational workbook from 1986, and it taught vocabulary and reading comprehension to the kids while they learned about their favorite soul acts.     The 42cast Episode 277: Full Marks

    Last time that we discussed Invincible we talked about how it stands many of the superhero tropes on its head and gives powerful characterizations without wallowing in cynicism as so many series do. In this episode we take a look at the third season of Amazon Prime’s Invincible. We discuss what this season teaches us about Mark, Nolan, Cecil, and others. We question whether Nolan is a redeemable characters. We talk about Mark’s character and whether he comes off as childish, principled, or somewhere in between. We debate nuance with characters like Rexplode and Powerplex. Along the way we get into the topics of Viltrumite culture, why Peter Cullen’s voice grants a character instant trust, time travel, and achieving full Marks. Stay for the outtakes where Cammie makes the case that The Hunt for Ben Solo was canceled because the Di$ney executives hate women.     Episode 47 — From Star Trek to Van Life This episode of Have Coffee Will Travel looks a little different…because it is. For the first time, Shawn set up a camera and filmed the podcast while recording the audio. Why? Because he’s gearing up to launch a new YouTube project called The Long Way Around. The goal is simple: get comfortable on camera and learn the basics of video production along the way. It’s part learning process, part experiment, and Leah is more than happy to help put him through his paces. Then the episode shifts into a very appropriate theme. Since this is episode 47—a number every Star Trek fan recognizes—Leah fires a series of questions at Shawn about the legendary sci-fi franchise. Think of it as Star Trek for Beginners.
