After following Bekah on social media, I often wondered when she finds time to sleep. But her story about how her father literally commandeered a US military plane to get his family out of Vietnam in 1975 will tell you why she is so focused on using every minute she has to give, teach, mentor- and be the best person she can be.  If nothing else, the story of their escape will take your breath away. And I still don’t know when she finds time to sleep.

Like many young writers, Adam had his eye on a big time career as a sports writer, and he certainly had the skills. He put together an impressive career as a journalist with CNN and Gannett until one day, he’d had enough. He was the first person to arrive at a murder scene, and at that monent, knew he had to make a significant change. Six years later, Adam is Head of Corporate and Executive PR at FIS, a global leader in technology and financial services wth 55,000 employees worldwide. His story will inspire anyone who believes that once they choose a career, they must always follow that path,

Elizabeth Andrew’s TED Talk is called Let Them Back In! And you just may be one of those with your nose pressed against the window. After a stellar career in financial services, she left for 17 years to raise her kids, and was as busy in that role as a fundraiser and event organizer as she had ever been at work. So when she was ready to get back to work at age 50- and decided Tech was her next frontier, she was in for a very rude- and humbling- awakening. Despite her undeniable track record of success, the world was not excited to welcome her back. Her story will inspire you and frustrate you. And this story is not just a mom’s story- it’s a lesson for all.

Christy Samad knows how to network the way to getting a job- and to getting her job done. As a recent graduate of University of Cincinnati working as a waitress at a local restaurant known for power breakfasts, she “eavesdropped” her way to her first job. (Okay, some may call it creeping on the conversations of random customers, but I digress) All she knew was that she wanted a role promoting her beloved city and boom, she got it. And now, eleven years later, she is the VP of Events for The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC), and as she says “bringing life to spaces and places”. Christy has learned that building and maintaining connections are the core of, well, pretty much everything.

His mother pushed him into football and his coach had to pick him up to get him to show up to practice. Fast forward past an illustrious career as a USC Trojan, 11 years as a player and 10 as a coach in the NFL, and it turns out that Momma does indeed know best. Now the Associate Athletic Director at Loyola Academy in Chicago, he gets to live his purpose as a mentor every day. (Oh, and there is a Snoop Dogg reference in this episode too.)
