Peter Bruun / The Fatherly Edition

What about turning off your mobile and having some me-time? If this is something that you do or trying to do, you will love this episode of this podcast by me, Tommaso Maggio, an Italian daddy in Bangkok. In each episode, I talk to a different dad who shares his experiences, challenges and tips on being a parent in today’s world. 😊 Today, I had the pleasure to chat with Peter Bruun, who is based in the Netherlands. He is a fellow member of the L&D Shaker community: a network of learning and development professionals. The first time we tried to call, Peter was in a forest 🌲, enjoying some nature time, while I was in a concrete jungle 🏙️, surrounded by buildings and traffic. We decided to use Adobe Podcast instead of Zoom because Zoom announced that they would collect all user data to improve their AI service. We wanted to have some privacy and security for our conversation. 🔒 Peter is not only an entrepreneur and a social psychologist but also a father of three daughters! 👨‍👧‍👧 He told me how he is always learning from them, especially at home. He also shared with me an amazing initiative that he started a few years ago: Peter’s Campfire 🔥. It is a regular event where he invites a small group of fathers to join him around a campfire and talk openly about anything related to parenting. In this episode, we discussed: How he started Peter’s Campfire and what benefits it brings to fathers. How he balances his work and life as an entrepreneur, a social psychologist, and a father of three daughters. How he keeps his passion and curiosity alive in learning and development. What tip he would give to aspiring fathers or parents. This episode was full of inspiration from Peter. I learned a lot from him and I hope you will too. Do not miss this episode if you are interested in learning and development 📚, living abroad ✈️, or working parents 💼! If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, rate, review, and share it with your friends and family. Thank you for listening! 😊 You can also follow us on @thefatherlyedition and check our website and YouTube A bit about Peter Peter Bruun is an entrepreneur and social psychologist. As a father of 3 daughters, he is the only male in the house and needs some masculine energy as well. Therefore he builds campfires by the full moon for other fathers to share experiences and advice, where no one holds the truth and everyone is respected.
