Episode 105: Praise the Too Awesome to Use (in Video Games)

Welcome to The Feed from Geek Mountain podcast, Episode 105! One of the most common tropes in video games is most often that really powerful item that you can only use once. You feel like a demonic powerhouse for only a brief moment in time only to go back to your normal self shortly afterward. Other times, you may hoard these items for a rainy day or an emergency when ultimately you forget to use it at all. Sometimes you may even save it for that epic final boss fight. Regardless of how you use it or lack thereof, it's powerful and one-time use is a common trope. Time to explore more tropes.
