He had Carlos Ulberg on the ropes with a bum and blown out knee. But the bushido in him said that he should give Carlos Ulberg a fair shot and actually said he felt bad for him. The dumbest gameplan of the year easily from Jiri Prochazka. Now Carlos Ulberg is the champion, and he deserves every bit of that title. He grit out a tough knockout against a beloved fighter and shocked the world in the process. This is the type of win that legends start their career's with. Paulo Costa surprised everyone in his light heavyweight "debut" against Azamat Murzakanov. Many expected Paulo Costa to lose, to be knocked out. But nearly invincible against southpaws, Paulo Costa had a field day. The open side body kick was there all night. He beat Azamat Murzakanov to the punch all night. And at the end of the fight, Paulo Costa got out of UFC 327 with a third round knockout win. The highlight of the night was easily Josh Hokit. He and Curtis Blaydes went to war. Josh Hokit actually got a brawl out of the timid Curtis Blaydes. Before UFC 327, Josh Hokit talked a big talk, walked a big walk, and had to back it up. He did that so well that he was booked to fight Derrick Lewis at the White House while he was on the way to the hospital. Josh Hokit is annoying to many. But his antics brought eyes to the sport and he will prove to be an asset for TKO for the near future. Cub Swanson had his swan song. In his final fight, he knocked out Nate Landwehr in the first round and went out better than most could ever imagine. In a sport that destroys it's legends to build the next era of stars, not many get the cap that Cub Swanson got. Aaron Pico also got his first UFC win and finally settled the age-old rivalry from Bellator against Patricio Pitbull. That said, fans haven’t turned on him as they’ve done to other paper champions in the past. We know how good he and Alex Pereira is. That speaks a testament to how fun Jiri Prochazka is. Becoming a two time champion will put him in rare company with names like Jon Jones and the aforementioned Alex Pereira in the light heavyweight division. That’s a great list of names to be in. Carlos Ulberg has a very narrow path to victory. Of course there are the low kicks. But that will be a small part into what Ulberg will need to bring to UFC 327. He’s going to have to bite down and survive the chaos brought by everyone’s favorite MMA samurai. We know what Jiri Prochazka is going to do. The onus will be on Carlos Ulberg to react to that.     MOICANO WANT MONEY! Renato Moicano defeats Chris Duncan in a very odd fight that should probably have never been booked. This reminded us why we love Renato Moican so much. Chapters: 0:00 Renato Moicano vs Chris Duncan reaction 8:11 Virna Jandiroba vs Tabatha Ricci reaction 13:35 Ethyn Ewing vs Rafael Estevam reaction 19:27 Jose Delano vs Robert Ruchala reaction Renato Moicano beat Chris Duncan by doing what Renato Moicano does best. In a textbook approach, Moicano took away the low kick and then the jab of Chris Duncan. In the main event of UFC Vegas 115, Reato Moicano reminded everyone that he was no pushover for the young bucks to come in and roll through him, even at 36 years old. Now he has big fights, or none if he's to be believed. Paddy Pimblett, Dan Hooker, all of these are fun fights. Give me more Renato Moicano asap. In the co-main event of UFC Vegas 115, Virna Jandiroba dominated Tabatha Ricci. Coming off of a title attempt, Jandiroba needed a rebound. Tabatha Ricci, on the other hand, was looking for a way in. But Virna Jandiroba did what she had to do. Getting to the body locks, getting to the ground, that's where Virna Jandiroba shined. Ethyn Ewing was the standout performance for UFC Vegas 115. Facing Rafael Estevam, Ewing wanted to prove that the Malcolm Wellmaker win was no fluke. He proved just that. Ethyn Ewing may be my new favorite prospect at 135. He has the complete package from boxing, defense, and wrestling. Keep an eye out for Ethyn Ewing going into the future. He's a promising prospect with nothing but fun fights ahead. Speaking of new contenders, 145 found a new one. Jose Delano destroyed Robert Ruchala. The clinch fighting was what really blew the doors off of that fight. Jose Delano joins a crowded featherweight division with plenty of young fighters that are looking for their ways in.

Joe Pyfer never should have had a chance to win this fight. But Father Time is undefeated. He always comes calling. And for Israel Adesanya, he's called a couple times. But now, here we are. Joe Pyfer has put himself right in the middle of some very difficult fighters and he will have to fight several of them. After being knocked out by Joe Pyfer, we also have to ask if Israel Adesanya should retire. Long in the tooth, Israel Adesanya is on a 1-5 run dating back to his loss to Alex Pereira. But the losses are coming easier and easier, and also more brutal and more brutal. Joe Pyfer caught Israel Adesanya. Now 36, we have to admit that the best Israel Adesanya is far behind us. It is time to hang them up. Alexa Grasso also dominated her opponent, Maycee Barber, with one of those finishes that you don't wish on anyone. While we did unlock a new combo, the 1-2-RNC, it looked like Maycee Barber was brutally hurt, or worse. Alexa Grasso is back in the win column after two straight losses. Now she must continue to win and earn her way back to the title. Lerryan Douglas is a new player at featherweight. He brutalized Julian Erosa. Erosa is no slouch and Lerryan Douglas made that look super easy. Keep an eye on this one. #ufcpodcast #mmapodcast #ufcseattle

With Paramount being their new customer, not us, we must let Paramount know, loud and proud, that what we've been seeing is not good television. Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy were the story of the night, the most important fight on the card. With a title shot on the line, the urge was on both fighters to show up and show out. Movsar Evloev's solution to this was to be a striker, not the wrestler that he truly is. At the end of the day, despite a point deduction, Evloev got the win. While it was close and many are calling robbery, the fight was close but not a robbery. The big story on the night, however, was Michael Venom Page and Sam Patterson. While Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev are not the most exciting fighters, they looked like Justin Gaethje compared to what they brought to, which was nothing. Michael Venom Page did nothing, Sam Patterson did nothing. Neither fighter actually fought. If that ain't the UFC, nothing is. #ufcpodcast #ufclondon #movsarevloev

They don't really want Movsar Evloev or Lerone Murphy get a title shot, much less both of them. Instead, they are making them fight and removing at least one from the Alexander Volkanovski pool!

We just never knew that he was this good. His win at UFC Vegas 114 was nothing short of spectacular. With his biggest win yet under his belt, Kevin Vallejos has bright things ahead of him. The featherweight division is in a state of flux and Vallejos hopes to be among those fluxing. This puts him in the conversation with the Melquizael Costas, the Jean Silvas, and the Lerone Murphys. Now he has to kick through the door and prove he is deserving to be among names like those. Gillian Robertson also had a fantastic win. She beat Amanda Lemos in a hard fought battle. But there are holes in her game and when it comes to the top five, Gillian Robertson will have her own struggles. Tatiana Suarez is a nightmare, as is Weili Zhang. Now that she's in the top five and has a five fight winning streak going, Gillian Robertson faces the hardest part of her career. There are truly elite fighters that wait for her in the upcoming few fights. Her winning will put her among the best. Losing will end her career as one of the top 10 gatekeepers of the division. Myktybek Orolbai is a problem. Taking on a former middleweight in Chris Curtis, Orolbai ragdalled his opponent at UFC Vegas 114. The variation and relentlessness from Myktybek Oralbai was brutal and how a grappling based approach should be. He hunted damage, submissions, mat returns, and gave Chris Curtis no room to breathe whatsoever. He may not be top 15 yet, but at welterweight, Myktybek Orolbai is going to be a force to be reckoned with in a division where the depth of talent is already enough to drown a young prospect. #kevinvallejos #mmapodcast #ufcvegas111

Many, myself included, thought this fight was going to be insanely difficult for him, as are most fights with Max Holloway. Instead, Oliveira dominated and proved that he's still got a lot left in the tank. He left Max Holloway wondering what was happening to him. This was something nobody has ever done to the former featherweight champion. Now Charles Oliveira has so much lined up for him. There's Conor McGregor, Arman Tsarukyan, Benoit Saint-Denis and perhaps even an Ilia Topuria rematch. Caio Borralho beat Reinier de Ridder to cap off the middleweight tournament that meant nothing. After his loss to Nassourdine Imavov, Caio Borralho improved by going first, going often and leading the charge against Reinier de Ridder. Reinier de Ridder was too basic in his approach and didn't have a plan B to do anything that Borralho didn't want him to do.  Raul Rosas Jr also had a rankings berthing performance. He defeated Rob Font. But the win was more Rob Font not being good than it was Raul Rosas was bad. Font fought terribly, over extending and giving up the takedown to the wrestling-heavy Raul Rosas. Chiwiws didn't make an appearance but Raul Rosas showed he's getting better. #charlesoliveira #oliveiravsholloway #mmapodcast
