The Final Edition

I love what this group does!

When I was in high school my mom would come home from the store with a fresh copy of National Lampoon, the greatest magazine I have ever read. I bought Radio Dinner and The Missing White House Tapes, blow our stupid minds, and later I bragged to my friends that the new show, Saturday Night Live, was infested with people who were on those albums. Later I got National Lampoon's Greatest Hits, a compilation of the best of their radio hour. Just the greatest. Now The Final Edition has new people, some of whom I've heard associated with the Jimmy Dore Show on KPFK (Friday afternoons at 3, barring bi-monthly pledge drives). The Final Editon is just like an audio version of National Lampoon: sometimes hilarious, sometimes gross, and sometimes disgusting! It's so GREAT! Did I say it was great? Yes I did!

I stumbled upon The Final Edition Radio Hour a few months ago. I was a little too young to remember The National Lampoon in its prime, but I recognized some of its current comedy writers from their previous work on Comedy Central and Air America Radio. Simply put: it is fantastic. This is the unapologetic, non-PC, hilariously funny satirical comedy that I've been missing. iTunes needs to post all 150 episodes for download!
