The Flamethrowers
“The Flamethrowers” captures the punch-you-in-the-mouth energy and sound of right-wing talk radio. Host Justin Ling takes us from the fringe preachers and conspiracy peddlers of the 1920s to the political firestorm that rages today. With humour and candour, Ling examines the appeal of broadcasters like Rush Limbaugh, who found a sleeping audience, radicalized it, and became an accidental kingmaker — culminating in the election of Donald Trump.

Great summary but…
03/05/2022
This is a great historical account of the influence of broadcast terrorism. The only failure in this account is the lack of motives. What drove and motivated these bad actors to do what they did? I feel this should be explored to tell the full story. Who fed the narratives and who benefits from this cancer seeping into our homes through the airwaves.
Ah yes, pure sensationalism

This is Canadian communist-driven sensationalism at its finest; pure propaganda!!! This is absolute one-sided, biased garbage.
We’ll worth your time

Such a good history of the rise of Trump and the profiting from anger.
When are podcasts going to grow up?

Yet another podcast that has interesting and well-researched material but lacks the confidence in itself to present that material without incessant background music and gratuitous sound effects.
