Made me even more grateful for my relationship

I just listened to your most recent podcast episode. The part about alcoholism really hit me.

In my late teens & early 20s, I used to drink to help with my insomnia. Not often, but enough that listening to that episode made me realize I should have been concerned.

No one really talks about the habits that lead to alcoholism other than "drinking a lot".

It also reminded me of a comment from someone who had been in AA for 20+ years. When I explained "I couldn't sleep, so I had 3 drinks, and was able to", instead of using it as a teaching moment, she sarcastically said "Well, that doesn't sound like an alcoholic at all."

I've never been able to pick up on sarcasm, so I spent the next 5 years believing it was 100% OK and that using drugs like a medicine was the exact opposite of what leads to addiction.

These habits stopped when I met my current GF, and we developed better habits together to deal with things like insomnia, stress and anxiety.

I'm grateful your podcast helped make me aware of the blessing she has been in my life, even when I wasn't aware of it.

So, all that to say, thank you. :)
