With a background of senior positions at leading asset management firms, Douglas founded Future Planet to advise the Future Planet Fund on investment in to hard-to-access opportunities in growth stage companies from top universities across the globe (Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, University of California Berkeley, Tel Aviv, National University of Singapore etc). The Fund's ambitious vision is to link the world's largest investors to its brightest minds to profitably address the world's challenges. Aside from commercial projects, Douglas' public service contributions include pro bono and political work in the UK and Africa. At the 2015 UK Parliamentary Election he stood as a candidate for Walsall North, outperforming poll predictions by 12% and just narrowly losing the vote. He is a Global Representative of Conservatives Abroad, sits on the Conservative Area Committee for Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire and is a Committee Member of the Poppy Ball in support of the Royal British Legion. He formerly participated in the Conservative Party's Umubano Project in Africa and sat on the Advisory Board of the Rwandan Cricket Stadium Fund.
