    Freddy vs Jason

    Freddy vs Jason

This week we are discussing our 73rd sequel and 200th episode, "Freddy vs Jason".  It took 15 years after Rob Hedden tried to make it happen, but we finally got the two horror legends going head to head.  We discussed the idea of a buddy cop movie titled "Freddy and Jason", the amazing real estate agent who keeps selling the Krueger house, the superhuman strength of Jason, Not Jay Mewes and Not Billy Bob, and lots more.

This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/freddyvsjason

The next sequel that will be discussed next is "Mechanic: Ressurection,"   Statham, Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, and our action sequel expert Andrew Powers will be back to help us break it all down.  For this one, we chatted with stuntman and actor Brahim Chab.  Brahim had some great stories about taking the leap from France to pursue his dream plus how he came to double JCVD plus lots more.  Great chat with someone who is on the other side of the globe.

Stuntman and Actor Ken Kirzinger ("Jason" in "Freddy vs Jason")

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Freddy vs Jason" and this week I am so lucky to pick the brain of "Jason Voorhees" himself from it, actor and stuntman Ken Kirzinger. Ken talked about how he got interested in becoming a stuntman, working in Vancouver during the filming boom in the 80s, Jason Takes Manhattan, Gunsmoke, and more.  Ken had some legendary stories and I was so grateful he shared them with me.

    Batman Forever

    Batman Forever

This week we are discussing "Batman Forever", which is the perfect way to kick off 2022.  Carrey, Lee Jones, Kilmer, Kidman, O'Donnell, and more fill out this star-studded cast.  This is more comic book looking than its predecessors, but a lot of fun to break down.  We discussed some of the "almost" casting decisions if anyone can turn on the bat signal, Commissioner Gordon being the worst, the Riddler's odd change throughout the movie, and so much more.  We had guest reviewer Shorror join us to analyze this Batty sequel.

This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/BatmanForever

The next sequel will be our 200th sequel and we are covering a sequel with 2 horror icons, Freddy Vs Jason.  I was lucky enough to interview Jason himself, Ken Kirzinger who is a legend in the stunt world.  He also was the stunt coordinator for Jason takes Manhattan and actually was the cook that Jason killed in the NY diner scene.  Ken has done everything from stunt driving to a gun spinner, hell he even was a stand-in for John Lithgow in a movie.  Great stories about starting in the stunt industry just as filming started to boom in Vancouver, Canada.  Great chat.

Special FX Artist Eddie Yang (Avatar/Iron Man/Batman Forever)

Special FX Artist Eddie Yang (Avatar/Iron Man/Batman Forever)

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Batman Forever" and this week we are talking with Special FX Artist Eddie Yang.  Eddie's story is so inspirational because after falling in love with makeup effects as a kid, he knew what he wanted to do and made it happen.  Eddie was such a fan of Rick Baker after seeing "American Werewolf in London", then years later worked for him and with him and are still friends to this day.  I also loved hearing about how the industry and Eddie himself transitioned once computers came into play.  Great chat.

Next up is "Batman Forever". This sequel catches a lot of flack from people, but I remember loving it.  Hell, I had all the McDonald glasses from it.  Can't wait to talk about it and all the fun behind-the-scenes stories I found (and Jamie heard).

    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

This week we are discussing "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation", which is the greatest Christmas sequel ever.  We discussed if this movie involves a "Vacation", Jamie's friends in high places, Clark's odd pool fantasy, Eddie being Eddie, the career of a food additive expert, and more.  This is our last sequel of 2021, so thank you for listening and 2022 is going to be epic!

This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/ChristmasVacation

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Batman Forever" with a pretty epic cast to follow up "Batman Returns.  I interviewed special fx artist Eddie Yang who was a sculptor and painting on this one, but this is one of many EPIC credits that Eddie has.  Others include Predator, Gremlins 2, Return of the Swamp Thing, Avatar, and so much more.  Eddie’s story about just dropping into local effect studios at the age of 16 is one you will love, plus how he connected with and started working with Rick Baker is a goodie too.  Plus Eddie remembers the late great (and former guest) Tim Lawrence who gave Eddie one of his first jobs.  Amazing chat.

Actress Miriam Flynn (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation)

Happy Holidays! The next sequel we are reviewing is "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and this week we are talking with Actress Miriam Flynn.  Miriam is most known for her role as "Cousin Catherine" in the "Vacation" Franchise, but her voice acting credits show that you have heard her voice over the years on all your favorite cartoons.  Miriam talked about her improv days at "Second City", how she landed "Cousin Catherine", voice acting, and so much more.  Great chat.

Miriam's late husband's movie is "The Space Between" starring Kelsey Grammer and Paris Jackson
