#80 From Navy SEAL to Rock Frontman

Episode 80 takes us into the Man Cave with former Navy SEAL Marc Hansen — and this one goes way beyond a typical transition story. For Marc, leaving the Teams wasn’t about walking away from purpose… it was about returning to something that had always been there. Music was in his soul long before the military, and after service he found himself back where he was meant to be — on stage. Marc is the frontman of Electric Mud, an award-winning San Diego rock band made up of five members — Marc Hansen, Matt Hansen, Colton Cori, Matthew Sorena, and David Stagno — with three of them being U.S. Navy veterans who found each other through music. The band originally formed in 2008 when Marc and his brother Matt started playing together in Staten Island, New York. Soon after, both joined the Navy and put their musical dreams on hold. Years later, while stationed in San Diego, they met fellow sailor Colton Cori and began jamming on their days off. What started as a creative outlet quickly reignited something bigger — and eventually the pull toward music became stronger than the pull to stay in uniform. With cousin Matthew Sorena joining and founding member David Stagno returning, Electric Mud was complete. Blending an old-school rock feel with the sounds of the 60s and 70s, the band draws inspiration from legends like the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Tom Petty, and Waylon Jennings. Known for strong hooks and a powerful live show, Electric Mud has built a reputation in San Diego’s music scene you don’t ignore. In this conversation, Marc opens up about identity after service, rediscovering passion, and why transition isn’t just about finding a job — it’s about finding yourself again. Listen, follow, and share — and if you’ve ever wondered what life after the Teams can really look like, this episode is for you. https://www.electricmudofficial.com/band

    # 78 Andrea Geraldi...Screens Down, Forks Up

Episode 78 – The Goode Show | Andrea Geraldi, Back At The Table In this episode, I sit down with fellow military spouse Andrea Geraldi, founder of Back At The Table — a nutrition and family connection program built around a simple but powerful idea: getting families back around the dinner table and actually enjoying being together again (yes… conversations included, screens not invited). Andrea has the education to back it up — a degree in Dietetics & Nutritional Science from the University of Vermont and a Master’s in Public Health focused on Maternal & Child Health from the University of Hawai’i — and she also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at Southwestern College. But as she quickly admits, all the science in the world doesn’t always win against a child refusing dinner because they spotted one suspicious green fleck in a meatball. Living in Coronado with her husband and three children, Andrea shares how her travels — from Taman Negara, Malaysia to the Tatras Mountains in Slovakia — shaped her understanding that healthy eating is not one-size-fits-all. Every family, every culture, every household rhythm is different, and the goal isn’t perfection… it’s connection. We talk about real-life family nutrition in a way that finally makes sense:• What “good” and “bad” fats actually mean (and why you probably don’t need to fear them)• Simple, realistic sources of protein for busy families• The real story with carbs — and why they’re not the enemy• How to create healthy habits without turning dinner into a nightly battle• Why family mealtime matters more than what’s on the plate Andrea has also helped publish a cookbook through the Military Special Operations Family Collaborative and The Family Dinner Project, continuing her mission to make family meals approachable and low-pressure for parents. Through Back At The Table, Andrea encourages families to unplug, laugh, and reconnect — because dinner isn’t really about the food… it’s about the people sitting across from you. And in her house? The dinner table is where everyone is happiest… or at least that’s what she tells everyone.
