Thought and Conversation Provoking

Really enjoyed this podcast! I loved how it sparked some great conversations with my wife about our family and what we are doing to strengthen relationships and preserve our family history. Thank you for the time and effort put into such a top shelf production!

Good results

As I listened to this I realized the need boys have fir closer relationship with their grandpas. We have 2 grandsons 8 and 13 who are closer to me, grandma, since I took care and play with them as they grew up, but not too close to their grandpa. We are changing that, scheduling one on one time with grandpa to do special activities that they like. I hope you get a little satisfaction that your pain helped other families to improve their own relationships. God bless you!

Powerful, thought-provoking

This is a powerful, thought-provoking story. Listening to someone else’s private family heartbreaks and “skeletons in the closet” is something we don’t often get to do. I was hooked from the beginning, despite the fact that this is not the kind of podcast with a swift moving plot, if you will. It’s real, and emotional. And I feel like because it’s real it’s so relatable. This story really highlights how crucial good communication is. When there is miscommunication in a family over a seemingly small matter it can snowball into relationships broken, lost time, and huge regret. One thing I’ve learned is that when we feel hurt by someone, if we don’t get some kind of resolution and begin the healing process, then everything that person says or does we see through a lense of our hurt and anger. It colors everything and we end up wrongly assuming things about that person. We are all broken, imperfect people - sometimes we live as though we’re not or maybe we live in denial of that - but thank God there is redemption through Christ Jesus.
