Fairleigh Dickinson Men's Basketball Head Coach Greg Herenda's weekly show, which features premiere guests and sports personalities such as Hall of Fame Coaches Jim Calhoun and John Calipari, NFL coaches Bill Cowher and Dave Wannstedt, MLB Hall of Famers (Frank Thomas), former NBA players, and numerous other guests. The show, which airs on Saturdays at noon on WFDU 89.1 FM, celebrated its three-year anniversary on September 7, 2017.

    GHS: Mike Fratello 10/7/17

    About Mike Fratello: Fratello, won 667 games over the course of his 16-season, NBA head coaching career prior to joining the YES Network in October 2008 as an analyst on the network's Brooklyn Nets telecasts. Fratello, known as the "Czar of the Telestrator," won a New York Emmy in 2015 for his work as a YES sports analyst for the Nets. In 2014, he was a member of YES' Nets broadcast team which won a New York Emmy for Best Live Sports Series. In addition, Fratello earned New York Emmy Award nominations in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 for his YES work. He also works with former YES Nets play-by-play man Marv Albert on TNT's NBA telecasts, and is an analyst on NBA TV, as well. In the summer of 2014, Fratello coached the Ukraine National Team in the FIBA World Cup Championships in Spain. Ukraine qualified for the World Cup Championships by virtue of the Fratello-led squad's sixth-place finish (out of 24 teams) in the FIBA Eurobasket 2013 Finals. In the summer of 2012, Fratello had also coached Ukraine in the FIBA Eurobasket 2013 Qualifying Tournament, from which they advanced to the FIBA Eurobasket 2013 Finals. A native of Hackensack, N.J., Fratello compiled a 667-548 regular season NBA record from 1983 to 2007 while coaching the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies. He guided the Hawks to five post-season berths in seven seasons (1983-90) and was named NBA Coach of the Year after leading them to a 50-32 regular season record in 1985-86. Upon leaving the Hawks in 1990, Fratello was an analyst on NBC Sports' NBA telecasts from 1990-93 and provided commentary for NBC Sports' telecasts of the original "Dream Team" during the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Fratello next coached the Cavs for six seasons (1993-99), with the team's making the playoffs four times. He was an NBA post-season analyst for Turner Sports 1994-96, an NBA regular season analyst at Turner Sports from 1999-2004, and an analyst for Turner Sports during the 2007 NBA post-season. He coached the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2005 and 2006 seasons (making the post-season each year) and for the first 30 games in the 2007 season. Fratello graduated from Montclair State University and made early collegiate coaching stops including assistant positions at Rhode Island, James Madison and Villanova. He later was an assistant coach under Hubie Brown with the Atlanta Hawks for three seasons, and the following year was an assistant under new Hawks head coach Kevin Loughery. After one year with Loughery, Fratello became an assistant coach for Hubie Brown at the New York Knicks for one season before returning to Atlanta as the head coach in 1983.

    GHS: Bruce Hamburger 10/14/17

    As the team gears up for the 2017-18 season, Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball associate head coach Bruce Hamburger joins this week's Greg Herenda Show on Saturday, October 14 at noon. About Bruce Hamburger Bruce Hamburger is in his fifth season as the associate head coach for the Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball program. In 2016, Hamburger helped guide the Knights to a 10-win turnaround as the team earned an NEC Championship and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. Hamburger came to Hackensack via Jersey City after coaching at Saint Peter's from 2010-2013. While at St. Peter's, the team made the NCAA Tournament during his first year (2010-11). Hamburger's leadership resulted in the 10th team to make the NCAA Tournament in his 16 years as an assistant coach. Prior to working at Saint Peter's, Hamburger was an assistant coach at Caldwell College, after spending two seasons as an assistant coach for the New York Liberty of the WNBA. Along with his time at Caldwell and in the WNBA, Hamburger brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Knights' staff. He served as the head coach at Kean University for 11 years, where he is the all-time winningest coach. Hamburger coached his alma mater to four appearances in the ECAC Tournament, winning the ECAC title in 2005, and advanced to the finals again in 2006. He also led Kean to an appearance in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament in 2001. Prior to coaching at Kean, Hamburger was an assistant coach at Seton Hall under P.J. Carlesimo for nine years, beginning in 1986. The Pirates won two Big East Tournament titles and made six appearances in the NCAA Tournament during his tenure, including the 1989 run to the NCAA championship game. The team was inducted into the Seton Hall Athletic Hall of Fame in June 2014. Hamburger began his coaching career in 1984 at Trenton State, where he was an assistant coach under Kevin Bannon for two seasons. Hamburger graduated from Kean in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education. He also holds a Master's degree in Counseling Education from Seton Hall.

    GHS: Brian Jones 12/2/17

    On this week's Greg Herenda Show, CBS Sports college football analyst Brian Jones joins the program to discuss the college football landscape. About Brian Jones: Brian Keith Jones is a sports radio and television host and former National Football League linebacker. He currently covers college football for CBS Sports Network. Jones was drafted in the eighth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Raiders. Jones played NFL professional football for six seasons. After retiring from pro football, Jones moved to Los Angeles, California to try to start an acting career. After a few years, Jones returned to the University of Texas at Austin in spring 2000 to finish his corporate communications degree. He also hosted a weekday afternoon talk show on sports radio station KVET (AM) "1300 the Zone". Jones finished his degree by spring 2002, and became the first person in his family to graduate from college. He later moved on to working in sports television as a sideline audio tech, and later a sports reporter for University of Texas football games and a sports reporter for Fox Sports Southwest. In 2013, Jones joined CBS Sports Radio as co-host of the afternoon drive time program MoJo on CBS with the long-time broadcaster Chris Moore. In February 2015, CBS Sports moved Jones to the mornings with sportscaster Greg Gianotti, with "Gio and Jones in the Morning" the name of the program. [7] In March 2013, Jones was added by CBS Sports to be an analyst on College Football Today, the pre-game show for the SEC on CBS. Jones is a football analyst with Adam Zucker of the CBS weekly Saturday morning college football program, with former UCLA football Coach Rick Neuheisel. In 2017, Jones and co-host Gwen Lawrence launched the Better Man show and BetterManShow.com, a nationally syndicated lifestyle TV program for men. It is currently syndicated to more than 73 million homes.
