a lot better than what we did in class

im gonna be honest we just finished our hamlet unit in class and i actually ended up here because i just didnt want to do the reading, but this podcast pulled me into the play way deeper than i expected. it’s kinda hard to get interested in something when you’re rushing through sparknotesing an act a night and only really spending time on the lines you know you’re gonna get tested on, so im really glad i found this podcast. it helps you actually appreciate all the details you probably wouldve missed the first time over, and includes a lot of really cool theories and historical context. it hits that balance of being really interesting and also super chill and calming to listen to. also ive never gotten into the bard guy before so especially as a pretty deep dive into a really dense play its easily understandable to someone like me who went in knowing nothing about shakespeare. it helps that the episodes come in easily digestible ten minute chunks. also the host has a really nice voice and delivery so even if youre not particularly interested in hamlet or shakespeare (i know i wasnt) this show is chill as hell and super fun to listen to so check it out maybe

Thoughtful and Complete

Wow, this is everything I could want in regards to Hamlet in one place. The host pulls out the intriguing elements of this play and presents them with historically relevant context so that the listener gains a nuanced appreciation for the genius of Shakespeare and the exceptional nature the play. You have to be in it for the long haul to make it all the way through the play, but you will appreciate Hamlet all the more afterwards. The host has a pleasant voice, and I appreciate that the entire text is read in addition to the commentary on the play.

Simply outstanding.

Well-researched, well-prepared, and well-spoken. A well of information about “the Mona Lisa of literature,” Hamlet. Well done!
