    Episode 12 hears us chatting to Darren from Darling Balls Reptiles in our first snake related episode. Darren has kept a variety of different Reptiles, Exotics and Inverts across the years but decided to start up a breeding project this season with both his Royal Pythons and Corn Snakes. We hear how he found his first season with snake pairings, what his hopes are for the future and his plans to create an environment as close to the wild as possible for behaviour/research purposes. As we all know, Royal Pythons are ambush predators however as part of Darrens research project, he is of the mindset that it’s possible they would eat other things and will be documenting responses to certain insects introduced in to his realistic realm. Alex & Kitty also answer our questions surrounding what their opinions and experiences are on different matters when Reptile keeping.  Unfortunately a lot of Reptiles end up in Rescues and need re-homing for various reasons. Some reasons are completely unavoidable and owners are often upset that it has come to needing to re-home however on the flip side, people often buy Reptiles as a spare of the moment event without researching thoroughly and get bored with them and as a result they end up in Rescues.
