A “Normal” Stool Test Is MEANINGLESS Until You Check These 7 Markers

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: https://www.theibsfreelife.com/register-yt If your stool test did not check these seven things, you still do not have the full picture. Even good functional medicine testing usually misses most of this. And even great data is useless in the hands of someone who does not know how to read it. In this episode, I'm going to walk you through the seven things a real comprehensive gut test needs to cover for chronic diarrhea and IBS, and why the right practitioner matters just as much as the right test. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 A “Normal” Stool Test Is MEANINGLESS Until You Check These 7 Markers 1:11 What a basic doctor stool test actually checks 2:05 Why advanced functional medicine testing is the Wild West 2:59 Short chain fatty acids and your gut lining 3:53 Why your good bacteria count is not enough 4:43 The full range of bad bacteria most tests skip 5:34 Gut pH and why supplements stop working 6:33 Gut lining damage and leaky gut 7:33 Toxin recirculation and why you stay stuck 8:47 What to ask before trusting your test results ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Q: Can chronic diarrhea really be fixed in 12 weeks? A: It is possible when the root cause is fully identified, but only if your testing covers all seven key markers and the person reading it knows how to interpret them. Skipping even one piece, like short chain fatty acids or toxin recirculation, can keep the cycle going no matter how much time passes. Q: Why do stool tests come back normal when I still have diarrhea? A: Basic doctor stool tests only screen for a handful of things like blood, mucus, and parasites, so a normal result often just means they did not look far enough. Even advanced functional medicine tests frequently miss two or three of the seven markers that actually explain chronic diarrhea. Q: Why did supplements make my IBS worse instead of better? A: If your gut pH is off or your gut lining is inflamed, supplements and probiotics cannot survive or work the way they should. The order of treatment matters, and starting with the wrong intervention can genuinely make symptoms worse before they get better. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: https://www.therootedrn.com/ Webinar: https://www.theibsfreelife.com/register-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. IBS Supplements Making You Worse? Here's Why.

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar Feeling worse on a gut supplement is actually great news. Your body is telling you exactly what is going on, and once you know how to read the signal, you can finally stop guessing. Most women assume a bad reaction means the supplement failed. It usually means the opposite. It means something in your gut is finally being disturbed after years of sitting untouched, and that disturbance is often the first real sign of progress. In this episode, I'm going to break down the three real reasons IBS supplements backfire and what each one actually means for your gut. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS  0:00 IBS Supplements Making You Worse? Here's Why. 0:44 Why your best efforts can still backfire  1:24 What is already living in your gut  1:53 The squatter problem no one explains  2:37 Why antimicrobials can feel like demolition  4:01 Deborah's story with the wrong protocol timing  5:33 Why probiotics often make things worse first  7:00 What die off actually feels like  7:56 Why women quit right before they feel relief  8:23 Melissa's turnaround and what changed ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED  Why do gut supplements make IBS symptoms worse before they get better?  Supplements often disturb overgrown bacteria, yeast, or parasites that have been sitting in your gut for years, and disturbing them can cause a temporary die off reaction with more gas, bloating, or urgency before things calm down.  Should I stop taking a supplement if it makes my diarrhea worse?  Not automatically. Getting worse can mean the timing, dosage, or protocol order needs adjusting rather than meaning the supplement itself is wrong for you, so it is worth reviewing the sequence before quitting.  Why do probiotics sometimes make bloating and diarrhea worse?  Most probiotics do not survive stomach acid, and if they do reach the gut while it is still inflamed and overcrowded, adding more bacteria can increase bloating and cramping instead of easing it until the underlying overgrowth is addressed. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: www.therootedrn.com  Webinar: www.theibsfreelife.com/registration-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. The IBS Solution Reviews: What My Clients Actually Say

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar You were told your labs are normal. You still can't leave the house without checking where the bathroom is. Real client stories show what actually changes when someone finally looks for the cause instead of just naming the symptom. These are not hype stories. They are what happens when we stop stopping at a label and start asking why the symptoms are there in the first place. In this episode, I'm going to share real client reviews and case studies that show what happens when we stop treating IBS as the final answer and start testing for the root cause of chronic diarrhea and urgency. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS  0:00 The IBS Solution Reviews: What My Clients Actually Say 0:47 Living in fear of the next diarrhea episode  1:36 Why everything looks normal but you still feel awful  2:06 What stool testing actually finds  3:23 Grocery stores, banks, and getting your life back  4:21 Leslie's story, told it was IBS then IBD  5:00 The moment that made her finally get help  5:49 What changed in three days, two weeks, eight weeks  6:12 Chasing symptoms versus finding the cause  6:45 What to do if this sounds like you ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED  Can functional medicine testing help IBS when regular labs come back normal?  Yes, functional stool testing looks for infections, bacterial overgrowth, yeast, and digestive dysfunction that standard GI testing does not check for. Many women get a normal colonoscopy and blood panel and are told there is nothing more to do, when a deeper look at gut function often finds a clear, treatable cause.  How long does it take to see improvement in chronic diarrhea symptoms?  Some clients notice urgent bathroom trips easing within days, with bloating and food tolerance continuing to improve over the following weeks. Full results usually build over eight to twelve weeks as the underlying imbalance is corrected rather than just managed.  Is IBS really the end of the road for treatment?  No, an IBS diagnosis should be the starting point for finding what is actually driving your symptoms, not the final answer. It is a description of symptoms, not an explanation, and there is almost always more to uncover underneath it. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: www.therootedrn.com  Webinar: www.theibsfreelife.com/registration-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. Why So Many Women With IBS Also Have Anxiety

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar If your anxiety shows up even when you are already home, safe, with a bathroom ten feet away, it is not just fear of an accident. Something else is going on. Most women are never told what it actually is. Most of your serotonin, the chemical that keeps you calm, is made in your gut, not your brain. If your gut has been inflamed and overgrown for years, that production line breaks down, and your nervous system starts reading a chemical shortage as danger. That is the real reason so many women with IBS also carry constant anxiety. In this episode, I'm going to explain the gut brain loop behind IBS related anxiety and why therapy, medication, and breathing exercises alone rarely fix it. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS  0:00 Why So Many Women With IBS Also Have Anxiety 0:37 Why doctors label it anxiety and stop looking  1:29 Why IBS isn't a real diagnosis  2:11 What a standard gut workup actually checks  3:04 The serotonin connection nobody explains  3:56 Why low FODMAP, probiotics, and Imodium don't fix anxiety  5:53 The inflammation and anxiety loop explained  6:08 Sandy's story after 37 years of anxiety  7:34 Why supplements alone won't break the cycle  7:55 The test most doctors never order ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED  Why do people with IBS often have anxiety?  Because chronic gut inflammation and bacterial or yeast overgrowth disrupt serotonin production, and most serotonin is made in the gut, not the brain. This creates a constant low level nervous system alert that feels like anxiety even without a specific trigger. Can fixing gut health reduce anxiety?  Yes, addressing the underlying gut inflammation and overgrowth can restore serotonin production and calm the nervous system, often reducing anxiety within weeks. This also frequently improves bowel formation and consistency at the same time. Why doesn't therapy or medication fully resolve IBS related anxiety?  Because those tools work on the nervous system, not on the gut inflammation and overgrowth driving the chemical shortage in the first place. Without addressing the root cause in the gut, the anxiety tends to return once the calming effect wears off. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: www.therootedrn.com  Webinar: www.theibsfreelife.com/registration-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. Do This If You Have IBS and Want to Lose Weight

🎁 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar You would think chronic diarrhea would make weight fall off. For a lot of women with IBS, it does the opposite. Your body is not counting calories in and calories out. It is asking one question all day long. Am I safe? And if the answer is no, your weight is not going anywhere, no matter how clean you eat or how hard you exercise. This is the piece most doctors never explain, and it is why so many women feel like their body is working against them. In this episode, I'm going to explain why your nervous system holds onto weight when your gut feels unsafe, and what actually needs to happen before diet or exercise will work. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Do This If You Have IBS and Want to Lose Weight 0:19 The question I get asked all the time 0:54 Why your body isn't tracking your weight 1:38 What unsafe actually means to your body 2:20 Why fear and inflammation register as one threat 2:46 Why women with IBS still hold onto weight 3:33 Why pushing harder backfires 4:40 Give your body calm before the diet 5:20 Why breathwork alone might not be enough 6:10 The five minute nightly reset ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Can IBS cause you to gain weight instead of lose it?  Yes. When your nervous system treats your gut symptoms as a threat, it raises cortisol and slows your metabolism to protect stored energy, which can cause weight gain or stalled weight loss even with chronic diarrhea. This response is protective, not random, and it will not shift until your body feels safe again. Why can't I lose weight even though I have constant diarrhea?  Your body is not simply tracking what goes in and out. It is reacting to a perceived danger signal from fear of accidents and gut inflammation, and it will hold onto weight until that danger signal turns off. Does calming my nervous system actually help with IBS weight issues?  For many women it does, especially when paired with addressing what is actually driving gut inflammation, like bacterial overgrowth or low stomach acid. Calm alone will not fix an untreated physical root cause, but skipping it means your body stays braced no matter what diet you try. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: www.therootedrn.com  Webinar: www.theibsfreelife.com/registration-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episode on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. Why Functional Medicine Stops Working for IBS

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar You did everything right. You got advanced testing. You followed a protocol. And you still have chronic diarrhea and urgency. I see this constantly, and it is almost never because functional medicine does not work. It is because something in the process got skipped, and most people never find out what that missing piece actually was. In this episode, I'm going to break down the three real reasons functional medicine stops working for IBS, and give you one thing you can start doing tonight to help your gut heal. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Why Functional Medicine Stops Working for IBS 0:11 The right first step most women never take 0:44 Why your stool test barely tells you anything 1:41 The problem with how results get read 2:07 Bile acid malabsorption is a symptom, not an answer 2:57 Why your protocol worked, then suddenly stalled 5:04 The nervous system piece almost nobody treats 7:27 A four minute breathing exercise to try tonight 7:52 What to do next if this sounds like you ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Why does functional medicine fail for IBS and chronic diarrhea? It usually fails for one of three reasons. The testing did not go deep enough, the person reading the results did not know what to look for, or the nervous system was never addressed alongside the gut protocol. Any one of these gaps can leave someone stuck even after months of effort. Why did my IBS protocol work at first and then stop working? Bodies often react before they improve when clearing out bad bacteria or yeast, and if nobody checks in during that rough patch, people quit right when it starts working. A small adjustment and a check in call are often all that is missing, but without support most people assume the whole approach failed. Can the nervous system really affect IBS and chronic diarrhea? Yes. Years of urgency and bracing for accidents keep the body stuck in fight or flight, and healing cannot happen until the body feels safe enough to shift into rest and digest mode. This is why gut protocols alone sometimes stall even when the testing and supplements are correct. 📱 RESOURCES Website: www.therootedrn.com Webinar: www.theibsfreelife.com/webinar-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead. The 5 Questions Your GI Doctor Is Hoping You Never Ask About Your IBS

📌 Watch my webinar on my new IBS-D Freedom Method: https://www.theibsfreelife.com/register-yt If you have IBS, diarrhea, or urgency, here are five questions you need to ask your doctor. Some of these will make your doctor squirm. Good. Ask them anyway. Most patients never hear real answers to these, and that silence is exactly why they stay stuck for years. In this episode, I'm going to walk you through the exact five questions to ask your GI doctor about chronic diarrhea, why each one puts them on the spot, and what a real answer should actually sound like. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 The 5 Questions Your GI Doctor Is Hoping You Never Ask About Your IBS 0:32 Question 1: What is causing my IBS 2:35 Question 2: Have you tested me for bacterial overgrowth 4:54 Question 3: What do you know about my gut lining 6:40 Question 4: Have you tested my short chain fatty acids 7:52 Client story: extremely low butyrate levels 8:20 Question 5: Why do my symptoms keep coming back 8:50 Signs your doctor never had a real theory 9:15 What comes next if your doctor has no answers ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED Q: What questions should I ask my GI doctor about chronic diarrhea? A: Ask what is actually causing your IBS label, whether you have been tested for bacterial overgrowth, yeast, mold or parasites, what your GI knows about your gut lining function, whether your short chain fatty acids like butyrate have been measured, and why they think your symptoms keep coming back after treatment. Bring these five questions to your next appointment and pay close attention to how confidently your doctor answers each one. Q: Why does a colonoscopy show normal but I still have chronic diarrhea?  A: A colonoscopy is only a camera. It looks for tumors, polyps and structural damage, but it cannot see bacterial overgrowth, gut lining permeability, or low butyrate levels, all common drivers of chronic diarrhea. A normal colonoscopy simply means your colon is not visibly damaged, not that nothing is wrong. Q: What is butyrate and why does it matter for diarrhea? A: Butyrate is a short chain fatty acid made by beneficial gut bacteria that feeds your colon cells and slows down motility. When butyrate is low, your gut becomes hyper reactive and stool never forms properly, which is why so many people with normal test results still struggle with urgency. 📱 RESOURCES  Website: www.therootedrn.com  Webinar: https://www.theibsfreelife.com/register-yt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theibssolution/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/digestivewellness 🔔 Subscribe for weekly episodes on why conventional testing keeps missing the root cause of chronic diarrhea and IBS, and what functional medicine finds instead.
