A collection of pop culture podcasts full of smart, funny people who love talking about TV, movies, books, comics, games, and much more. This feed contains episodes from all the podcasts produced by The Incomparable.
Earp Chirp 52: "Holy War, Pt. 2" (S4:E6)
We’re back again! This time mere hours later. The Chirpers couldn’t wait to finish this two-parter. The season 4a conclusion zinged our emotions all over like a pinball machine. With the plotlines mostly wrapped up, we’re curious about where season 4b will take us. - Host Erika Ensign, Annette Wierstra and Kirsten Goruk.
The Incomparable 582: We Have All Ridden Buses
Get out your bus ticket and get ready to go live on the Internet, because it’s time to talk “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Marvel returns exclusively to theaters, and so do we, as we discuss Tony Leung, the dangers of deferred maintenance on articulated buses, hanging a lantern on a dragon, and the emotional weight of a single arrow. - Host Jason Snell with Moisés Chiullan, Kelly Guimont and David J. Loehr.
Earp Chirp 51: "Holy War, Pt. 1" (S4:E5)
After another long break, the Chirpers are back for a Holy War. Are we ready for a heist? Yes. Always. Also sexy, sketchy, demons. Perhaps less so for vomit and mysterious drowning ceremonies. Will we be able to wait for the second half of this two-parter? Who knows? It will be our cliffhanger. - Host Erika Ensign, Annette Wierstra and Kirsten Goruk.
Football is Life 20: "No Weddings and a Funeral" (S2E10)
We’re no strangers to love. You know the rules, and so do we: Keep your voices down in the church! Our panel discusses funerals, fathers, dress shoes, and Rick Astley. - Host Kathy Campbell with Keir Hansen, Shannon Sudderth and Chip Sudderth.
Agents of SMOOCH 66: We're Porn Friends Now
Did anyone ask for this? NO! But we did it anyway, first just for our members and now we release it to all our listeners. After we watched all the Twilight movies together, we had to do the Twilight FanFic come 50 Shades of Grey. This is definitely an NSFW and not safe for little ears episode of drinking, giggling, and entertaining each other when the movie fails to. There was pre-drinking. There will be much disdain. No one will actually know what is happening but when do we? Are we sorry we did this? Maybe. Will we do the rest of the movies? No. Not even for you, dear listeners. - Host Annette Wierstra with Kathy Campbell, Tiff Arment, Jean MacDonald and Moisés Chiullan.
Lions, Towers & Shields 36: Frauds and Geeks
Pretty actor Tyrone Power comes back from WWII and wants to play more serious part. So here he is as a carnival worker who rises through like as an increasingly successful con man. Until he doesn’t. Great noir visuals and wonderful performances by the underseen Helen Walker, and the can’t-be-overseen Joan Blondell. - Host Shelly Brisbin with Annette Wierstra and Nathan Alderman.
Great Content. A lot of fun.
I'm not going to tell you that I love every podcast offered by The Incomparable, but there are so darned many of them I enjoy a bunch on a regular basis. Biff! is superhero fun, Total Party Kill is a D&D blast, and Random Trek gives me comfort in these Trek-less times. The mothership show is usually interesting and another favorite is Rocket Surgery, which has hilariously introduced me to "Cool Cat Saves the Kids" and other bargain basement gems (John Carradine Lives! (he doesn’t)). Check out the full feed. You'll find something to enjoy.
So many great shows, such good sound production
This feed is full of so many good shows! There is sure to be something for everyone who likes to listen to geeky smart people talking and laughing about life, tech, movies, TV shows, books, Dr Who, etc. It’s not rude or crass or gross. Fast-paced and brilliant.
PS Actually a few of the speakers are recorded a rather low and I have to sit there changing the volume up for them and down for everyone else. So people are just soft-spoken and thoughtful and I want to hear them too!
After dropping all my political podcasts for the sake of sanity I went looking for something new. I'm not a nerd nor particularly obsessed with movies though I do lean towards sci-fi. This podcast ALMOST makes me wish I were! Very entertaining with in-depth (or at least arguable) analysis of whatever they are discussing. Since finding them I've enjoyed digging through the back catalog to hear their takes on such classics as Back To The Future, The Terminator, and Alien. Looking forward to hearing their recommendations on books and television shows. I really enjoyed the "dueling" podcasts on the newest Star Wars movie with our friends across the pond. Two opposable thumbs up!
