  1. The Long Game - A Slow Hobby | Micro-practice

    The Long Game - A Slow Hobby | Micro-practice

In a world shaped by speed, efficiency, and instant results, this practice is an invitation to slow down. The Long Game is about choosing an activity that asks for patience, something that cannot be rushed, optimised, or mastered quickly. A hobby where progress is gradual, feedback is subtle, and the reward is not performance, but presence. This practice gently teaches us how to stay with the process rather than chase outcomes. It helps us notice impatience, self-judgement, and the urge to quit and to meet those impulses with curiosity instead of resistance. Whether it’s gardening, cooking from scratch, learning an instrument, or working with your hands, a slow hobby becomes a quiet teacher. It reminds us that growth unfolds over time, and that showing up consistently matters more than getting it right. The Long Game is especially supportive if your days are filled with urgency, constant stimulation, or the pressure to produce. It offers a different rhythm - one that restores patience, attention, and trust in the process. This practice is part of Episode 9 of The Inner Space: The Art of Lifelong Learning.Follow The Inner SpaceInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theinnerspace_co/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-inner-space-community/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/theinnerspaceYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@theinnerspace_coApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-inner-space/id1812417368

  2. Feedback as a Mirror | Communication Practice

Feedback as a Mirror | Communication Practice

Feedback is rarely comfortable. And yet, it is one of the most honest ways we learn about ourselves. Feedback as a Mirror is a simple practice that invites you to see yourself through the eyes of others, not to judge or fix yourself, but to understand yourself with greater clarity and humility. In this practice, you’ll be guided to gently seek feedback from a few people you trust, and to receive what comes back without defence or explanation. The work here is not agreement. It is listening. Often, the very discomfort we feel around feedback is a sign that something important is present. Resistance marks the edge of growth. When we stay open at that edge, reflection becomes possible and small, meaningful shifts begin to take shape. This practice is especially supportive if you’re navigating growth, transitions, relationships, or leadership, and are willing to learn not just from experience, but from the mirrors life places around you. Take your time with it. Let what you hear settle. Choose one small insight to sit with. This practice is part of Episode 9 of The Inner Space: The Art of Lifelong Learning. 3. Ep. 9 The Art of Lifelong Learning | The Inner Space

Ep. 9 The Art of Lifelong Learning | The Inner Space

Learning doesn’t begin when we find the right answers. It begins when we soften our certainty and allow curiosity to lead. In this episode of The Inner Space, we explore what it means to live life as a student, not just learning after failure, but learning through every experience, relationship, and season of change. When we move through failure with ease and grace, fear loosens its grip. In its place, something quieter and wiser emerges: curiosity. And from curiosity, learning becomes a way of being. In this conversation, we reflect on: – curiosity as a sacred restlessness – learning and unlearning in moments of groundlessness – how people in our lives act as mirrors and mentors – the growth mindset – the paradox of mastery where wisdom returns us to humility and not-knowing Along the way, we draw from psychology, neuroscience, lived experience, and the lives of learners across disciplines, from leadership and sport to music and inner work. We pause for simple practices that help transform daily experience into insight. This is an invitation to release the need to be right, to soften certainty, and to meet life not as an expert, but as a student - wide-eyed, willing, and awake.
