INSIGHT OUT

Devin Almonte

Think, see, and live differently. By uncovering God’s truth and removing the blinders that keep us from seeing clearly, we are called not only to reflect on these truths when we rise, when we lie down, and in all we do, but to live them out in every area of our lives. As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 reminds us, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Faith is not meant to stay in our thoughts; it is meant to be lived out in action. What fills our minds and hearts shapes our lives, and what we truly believe must become evident in how we live. Together, we will learn what it means to live this out every day. This is more than a podcast; it is a way of life, a call to see life InSight Out, to live as we were created to live, flourish as God intended, and build our lives on the rock-solid foundation of His Word. Why? Because how we live matters.

The Insight Out Show: Roblox’s Dark Reality, The Carpenter’s Son, and Feet on the Rock

Are your feet firmly planted or are you slowly slipping off balance? Spiritually and practically, even a small inward turn can throw everything else out of alignment. On The InSight Out Show today, Devin begins with her Anchor Point devotional, Feet on the Rock, a reminder that when our footing drifts even slightly, everything else in life starts to feel off. She shares a childhood memory about walking a little pigeon-toed and how that simple image became a picture of what happens spiritually when we lose our balance. From there, she moves into how we can find solid ground again, standing firm in truth even when the world feels shaky. This week’s Insight Out episode also dives into two major stories shaping our culture and faith: 🎬 The Carpenter’s Son — Why a new Nicolas Cage “horror nativity” movie twists the truth about Jesus and reveals culture’s obsession with rewriting the Gospel.🎮 Roblox Under Fire — Lawsuits, predators, and the shocking underworld hiding inside one of kids’ most popular gaming apps. Devin shares what parents need to know, why spiritual vigilance matters, and how to guard both hearts and homes in the digital age. Scripture (NIV): Psalm 40:2 – “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Ephesians 5:11 – “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” 💬 Want to talk about it more? Anchor Points: Slow Down Before You Crack. When Rushing Ahead Costs You More Than Time.

We call it “being productive.” But what if rushing through the list is actually slowing down what God’s trying to do in us? In today’s Anchor Point, Devin shares how rushing through a project (like painting a basement) can end up costing us far more than time. What started as a "quick" paint job turned into cracked walls, peeled paint, and a gentle conviction. Sometimes, skipping steps isn’t just a bad habit, it’s disobedience. Through a relatable story and the wisdom of Proverbs 24:27, Devin invites us to pause, prepare, and trust that God’s process is always better than our shortcuts. In today’s Anchor Point, you’ll hear: Why moving too fast often leads to cracks laterHow “cutting corners” can actually be a spiritual issueWhat Proverbs teaches us about preparation, patience, and obedience Scripture (NIV): Proverbs 24:27 – “Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.” 💬 Want to talk about it more? What’s one area of your life where you tend to rush ahead? Have you ever seen the “cracks” appear later because of it? Why foundations, spiritual and cultural, matter more than appearances.🐄 Strange News: The Ig Nobel Awards and the bizarre brilliance of painting cows like zebras.📱 Main Story: Digital IDs in the UK. Are they convenience or control? And what it means for us in the U.S. (Be sure to go back and listen to Episode 20 on China's Social Credit System too) Scripture (NIV): 2 Corinthians 4:18 – “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 💬 Want to talk about it more? Anchor Points: Trading Heavy Rocks for Heaven's Riches. Why We're Afraid to Let Go.

What are you holding onto that's actually weighing you down? Ever been afraid to walk into church because you didn't feel "good enough"? Or hesitated to fully surrender to God because you weren't ready to let go of certain parts of your life? There's something ironic about holding onto heavy rocks while God is offering us riches. Yet so many of us do it, clinging to what's familiar, even when it's hurting us. Devin Almonte gets real about her own fears: the fear of going to church, the fear of not being "right-side-up" enough, and the fear of giving her whole life to Christ. But here's the truth she discovered: those rocks we're clutching? They're doing nothing but weighing us down. 🎧 In today's Anchor Point, Devin explores: Why fear keeps us from fully surrendering to GodThe irony of holding onto what weighs us down while rejecting what sets us freeWhat happens when we finally trade our rocks for His richesHow to take the first step when you're afraid of letting go 📖 Scripture (NIV): Matthew 11:28-30 – "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light." 💬 Want to talk about it more? What "rocks" have you been holding onto that God's been asking you to release? Maybe it's a habit, a relationship, a fear, or just a part of your life you've been too afraid to surrender. Let's talk about what it looks like to finally let go and what happened when you did (or what's keeping you from doing it). 👉 Join the conversation in the InSight Out Community on Facebook: 📩 Stay connected: Get encouragement, reflections, behind-the-scenes moments, and more in the weekly newsletter. 👉 Subscribe here. 🙌 Help Spread the Word: If this episode resonated with you or reminded you of someone who's been afraid to fully surrender, share it with them. Anchor Points: Growing Through the Shedding Seasons

What can a leopard gecko teach us about spiritual growth? More than you might think. Our daughter’s pet lizard, Blur, and I don’t exactly see eye to eye. We keep a respectful distance. Yet, in her quirky little lizard way, Blur has become an unexpected teacher of faith. Every six weeks, she sheds her skin, a process that leaves her cranky, restless, and uncomfortable. But it’s also the very thing that helps her grow and stay healthy. In today’s Anchor Point, Devin reflects on how Blur’s shedding reminds us of the pruning process in our own lives. God calls us to let go of the old so we can grow into the new. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, even painful, but it’s always purposeful. In this episode, Devin explores: What a lizard’s shedding can reveal about our spiritual journeyWhy pruning and letting go is necessary for growthHow John 15:2 shows God’s loving work in shaping us to bear more fruit Scripture (NIV): John 15:2 – “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” 💬 Want to talk about it more? Have you ever gone through a season where God was helping you “shed” old habits or mindsets? How did it shape your faith? Let’s talk about the hard but holy work of pruning. 👉Join the conversation in the InSight Out Community on Facebook. 📩 Stay connected: Get encouragement, reflections, behind-the-scenes moments, and more in the weekly newsletter. 👉 Subscribe here.
