Welcome to the intersection, a podcast of Discovery Church. My name is Martin Spoelstra and I’ll be your host. I’m excited to interview people about their faith journey but what I’m really excited about is that intersection when God shows up or when we allow God in. I’m interested in what happened. “The intersection”, is often times where faith and life meet, merge and sometimes collide. #DCbowmanville #theintersection

In this podcast, I interview author, Karen Wilk about her book, "Don't invite them to church". If you love your neighbours you should invite them to church, right? Wrong. Loving your neighbour isn't about getting them to join you on Sundays. It's about living your faith right where you are and being the church to the people around you. #dcbowmanville #Loveyourneighbour #Neighbourhood #Dontinvitethemtochurch

When God seems to say no!

What do you do when God says no and you can’t see the rest of His plan? In this episode, I interview Clarence Keesman, the Executive Director of The Refuge. He shares the story of their journey to provide affordable housing for the youth in the Durham region. Applying for a funding grant and not approved and then getting a 2nd chance. Since 1999, The Refuge has been working with youth who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of experiencing homelessness, or who are struggling.  More than just a place to find breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry facilities, access to clothing and personal hygiene products, as well as housing help, The Refuge is a place where youth can find community, safety, belonging and a renewed hope for their future. #therefuge #DCBowmanville #whenGodsaysno #whenGodspeaks @refuge_youth_outreach
