While there are several podcasts devoted to the modern Radio Play format, ALL of them are either Horror themed or Fantasy/Sci-Fi.
And then along came Invisible Stage.
The short plays put out by Invisible Stage are all drama - and very similar to the BBC smash hit afternoon series “Moving On”, the 40-minute anthology that depicted people from all walks of life forced to confront some kind of huge life-changing event, how they deal with it, and finally how they “move on” afterwards (usually learning from the event, and in so becomes a wiser and more mature human being).
Though I haven’t listened to every episode, the ones I DID hear seem to follow that same outline- and this is a good thing as it makes for both a good story AND a satisfying ending. It also demands the most from the voice actors- and fortunately Icebox has a damned good stable of voice actors. Check out Frozen Frights and Tales From The Rack for more of their great work.
PLEASE show your support for Invisible Stage if you like it - for it appears as if this podcast has become, or is becoming, lost in the pack - and it’s just too good a series for that to happen. Please subscribe and give it five stars to try and get it noticed by more podcast fans: it really deserves it.
