Welcome to The Jacob Kersey Program. Dedicated to spreading christian, conservative talk.

Hi, I am Jacob Kersey. I started podcasting in 2016 when I was thirteen. That is quite a young age, I know. I have no idea what I was thinking. However, being a podcaster has taught me valuable life lessons and sharpened communication skills. My motto has been to live truth and speak truth. It is important to live the truth first because if you live it, speaking it will have a greater impact on listeners, similar to 'practice what you preach'. I am thankful that you have decided to listen to my podcast because every time you engage, you help keep this podcast going. I think I have wrote enough so in departure, God bless and have a wonderful day!

    11/19/19: Myths about the NIV

    11/19/19: Myths about the NIV

Were there homosexuals on the NIV translation committee? Does the NIV delete and remove God's word? Why is the NIV attacked so much?

In this episode, I will answer these questions and more.

    Harmonization.
When you are very familiar with the way a particular phrase sounds in a passage you, your family, or your church uses often.
Example: Ephesians 1:2 and Colosians 1:2

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
    Ephesians 1:2 NASB

"To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father."
    Colossians 1:2 NASB

    KJV vs NIV
    Luke 2:33
    KJV
And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
    NIV
The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.
    Luke 2:48
    KJV
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
    NIV
When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.

    1 Corinthians 9:27
    KJV
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

    NIV
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

    Greek term- Hupopiazo

    Isaiah 14:12
    KJV
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

    NIV
How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Jerome added Lucifer in the Latin Vulgate

Lucifer in Latin, ‘light-bringing, morning star’,
    Hebrew: Helel or הֵילֵ֣ל
    means "a shining one"

    Revelation 22:18-19
    KJV
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    NIV
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

    Geneva Bible

11/6/19: Problems with King James onlyism

11/6/19: Problems with King James onlyism

I use to be King James only. However, when I saw the problems with my position, I knew I must change. In this episode, I will attempt to share the problems I discovered with KJV Onlyism. To all my listeners, no matter where you stand on the issue, please listen with an open mind. I am concerned that those who are already King James only will refuse to listen to this episode because it is an opposing view. I hope that will not be the case. I did my best to refrain from name-calling and angry ranting. My goal was to present the facts and evidence in a friendly and inviting, yet firm manner. To those who think this topic doesn’t concern you, I assure you that this understanding this extremely important if you want to defend the reliability of Scripture.

I did not have time to discuss everything I wanted to in this episode, however, if there is more interest in this topic, I will dive into some specifics.
Thank you for listening and may God bless you.

8/5/19: "No one knows what to do" (with Lawrence Jones)

8/5/19: "No one knows what to do" (with Lawrence Jones)

On this episode, Jacob Kersey and Lawrence Jones discuss the recent mass shootings and the message that people need to hear.

"The reality is, no one knows what to do, no one knows. We don't know the prescription to solve this issue. When we get into this debate about the act, the person, the tools that were used we disregard the problem of the person." Lawrence continued, "Scripture says that we should humble ourselves and pray first and turn away from our wicked ways and then He will heal the land."

Lawrence Jones is Campus Reform's Editor-in-Chief. Prior to joining Campus Reform, he hosted his own radio show on TheBlaze Radio Network and served as a Contributing Host for TheBlaze TV. He now is the host of Keeping up with Jones on Fox Nation and appears regularly on Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, and MSNBC.

Great show, great conversations

I saw Jacob's booth at CPAC recently and was stopped by a relative of his who told me a bit about the show and Jacob himself. The man convinced me to give the show a download, and I am happy that I did. I coudnt believe I was hearing a 16 year old have such poised and informed conversations. As I listened on, my disbeleif settled and turned into intent listening and enjoyment. This isnt a great podcast done by a young man, it is a great podcast. Period. These are conversations and topics worth listening to. Keep it up Jacob, I am glad to be a suscriber.
