David Lee Roth Kicks Off “Don’t Love Me, Rent Me” Tour + Live Without A Net Returns TONIGHT in HD!

David Lee Roth just lit the fuse on his 2026 run—reportedly titled the “Don’t Love Me, Rent Me Tour”—and he’s not easing into it. “Diamond Dave” stormed the stage with a full-throttle opening punch: “Panama,” “Drop Dead Legs,” and “Romeo Delight”—a killer trio that had the crowd instantly fired up. Then came the curveball… He downshifted into “Little Dreamer” from Van Halen—a deep cut he hadn’t performed solo in nearly 20 years. The last time? 2003. Moments like that are what make these shows must-see. Roth’s live setup is bigger than ever too, now featuring five backing vocalists, giving the show a fuller, more explosive sound. There’s also buzz that he’s been testing out a cover of New York State of Mind by Billy Joel—a bold move that could either crash or soar spectacularly. Next stop: Portland, Oregon on April 18, with the tour currently set to wrap up June 20 in Milwaukee. If this kickoff is any indication, Roth’s latest run is going to be unpredictable in the best way. David Lee Roth April 16, 2026 Spokane, WA Set List: 1. "Panama" 2. "Drop Dead Legs" 3. Van Halen – Diver Down: Celebrating the Iconic 1982 Album Anniversary

🎧 Celebrating Diver Down – Van Halen’s Classic Album (Released April 14, 1982) Van Halen’s fifth studio album, Diver Down, was released on April 14, 1982, and remains one of the band’s most recognizable and commercially successful records. The album spent an impressive 65 weeks on the U.S. Billboard charts and had sold over 4 million copies in the United States by 1998, solidifying its place in rock history. 🚩 Iconic Album Artwork The instantly recognizable red-and-white “diver down” flag symbolizes something hidden beneath the surface—perfectly reflecting the band’s layered sound and explosive energy. David Lee Roth explained that it represented “something going on that’s not apparent to your eyes.” Van Halen’s manager Noel Monk later revealed a playful double meaning—“dive her down”—in his memoir Running with the Devil. 📸 Back Cover Photo The album’s back cover features a dynamic live photo of the band taken by Richard Aaron at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on October 24, 1981, during a performance opening for The Rolling Stones. 🎵 Notable Tracks and Covers Of the album’s 12 tracks, five are cover songs, showcasing the band’s ability to reinterpret classics with their signature style. The standout hit is their high-energy version of “(Oh) Pretty Woman,” originally recorded by Roy Orbison, which became one of the album’s biggest successes. 🎙 Eddie Van Halen on the Making of Diver Down “After the Fair Warning tour, we planned to take a break. Dave wanted to release a single—originally Dancing in the Streets. But I couldn’t vibe with it. Instead, I suggested Pretty Woman. We recorded it in a day at Sunset Sound, and it took off. Warner Bros. said, ‘You’ve got a hit—time to make an album!’ We jumped in with no rest and made Diver Down in just 12 days. It was a lot of fun.” — Eddie Van Halen 🛒 Featured Gear 📱 UGREEN Phone Stand Desk: https://a.co/d/11q0UK2 📸 UBeesize Phone Tripod: https://a.co/d/gEIizVI These are affiliate links—thanks for your support! 🎸 Shop My Amazon Store https://www.amazon.com/shop/johnnybeane 📲 Follow Johnny Beane 🌐 Website: www.johnnybeane.com 📘 Facebook: http://facebook.com/johnnybeane 📸 Instagram: @johnnybeane 🐦 Twitter/X: @johnnybeane 🎵 TikTok: @johnnybeanetv 🎸 Join One of the Biggest Van Halen Facebook Groups http://facebook.com/groups/EVHFANPAGE 📬 Send Fan Mail or Products for Review Johnny Beane 4768 Soquel Dr, Box 232 Soquel, CA 95073, USA 💥 Subscribe to Johnny Beane TV for everything Van Halen—live shows, rare guitars, interviews, gear demos, and deep cuts from the band’s legendary catalog. #VanHalen #DiverDown #EddieVanHalen #DavidLeeRoth #JohnnyBeaneTV #ExclusivelyVanHalen

On this episode of Talking Guitars, we explore an incredible collection of rock and roll history now up for auction through Backstage Auctions. This remarkable lineup of instruments—once owned, played, or modified by legends like Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards—is expected to fetch a combined total of more than $1.5 million. One of the standout pieces is a Don Musser acoustic guitar reportedly used by Eddie Van Halen during the recording of Balance and Van Halen III, and heard on tracks such as “Take Me Back,” “Without You,” and “Neworld.” The auction also features Eric Clapton’s 1974 Fender Stratocaster, later gifted to Ronnie Lane of the Small Faces, as well as Keith Richards’ 2005 Duesenberg Starplayer Outlaw, a unique birthday gift to Ian McLagan, complete with a striking custom pearl mosaic finish and chrome skull knobs. Adding a touch of Hollywood nostalgia, the auction includes a Gibson acoustic guitar used during the filming of Viva Las Vegas, starring Elvis Presley.
