Growing up Brit Asian, Kush’s illustrations are designed to showcase the culture clash of balancing old school tradition whilst still finding and keeping your own identity. Kush has a degree in fashion design and worked in the industry for over 8 years before deciding to pursue a career in illustration. Her illustrations centre around strong, badass women being unapologetically themselves, tying in her love of fashion and pop culture. Kush currently lives in Yorkshire with her husband and black cat Kubo. Following his initial meeting and discovery by M.I.A through his primitive Tamil styles, SAINT RAAVAN went on a personal journey to identify and carve out a new sound and vision for himself, resulting in the unique future R&B-Tamil combination heard on his first release 'Maze' and now ‘Tell Me’. The unparalleled sound has since led him to work behind the scenes with artists such as AJ Tracey, Illangelo, the late Juice Wrld and of course M.I.A, which led to him joining the rapper on tour to give him his first taste for the industry.     The Juicebox Episode#8 Hope Sudarshan Glastris (she/her)

    Juicebox#8 🧃   In this episode Juice co-founder & creative director Evelyn Miller (@evs_1) chats with Hope Sudarshan Glastris (@hope.glastris.creative).  Hope Sudarshan Glastris is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. She received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with a concentration in drawing, painting, and mixed media, and her postbac in Graphic Design from the Corcoran College of Art + Design. Hope was born in Chicago, IL to a Punjabi mother and a Greek-American father, and spent most of her life living in the Washington, D.C. area. She employs both digital and physical artmaking practices, working towards connecting and integrating her creative work, life's work, and spiritual work. Hope lives in Brooklyn, New York, currently growing her art practice, working as a freelance graphic designer, studying yoga.    The theme for our second issue: MIND AND BODY, Hope and Evelyn in their conversation lay emphasis on relevant themes exploring through the lens of South Asian creatives.     Anisa Butt (she/her) is in conversation with Anushray Singh (he/him), Editor for Juice. Anisa Butt is a British Asian Actress, Podcast Host (@unplugwithani) and Poet. She was born and raised in London, UK. Anisa has been fortunate to work as an Actor in both the UK and India. She played the lead female in a Disney India Show titled "Ishaan" (like a high school musical for Kids) which had massive success and still has a huge fan base to date, even though it is no longer streaming.  She has been acting since she was 12 and writing poetry. And now her debut poetry book "Hope" is out and available 21ST JUNE 2021 on Amazon.com From being part of huge Bollywood blockbuster successes like "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani," and "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" to Sundance Premiered, "Brahman Naman" (available on Netflix) to Web shows, Commercials and Theatre, she continues to explore her creative callings and aspires to do more now in the UK as well.     Sisters Nimra (she/her) and Manahil Bandukwala (she/her), joins Juice’s Editor-in-chief, Adeeb (he/him), in this episode to talk about their joint creative endeavour, Reth Aur Reghitstan. Reth Aur Reghistan is a multidisciplinary arts project that explores folklore from Pakistan, and puts it in a contemporary context through sculpture and poetry. The project intends to engage South-Asians through intergenerational storytelling, oral histories and visual arts. We explored how Nimra and Manahil came to create the project, their upbringing and where they see themselves as women in male-dominated spaces.     The Juicebox Episode#4 Kamil Ahsan (he/him)

    In today’s episode, Anushray Singh (he/him), Editor, Juice is in conversation with Kami Ahsan (he/him). Kamil is an environmental historian and doctoral student at Yale, with a prior doctorate in biology from the University of Chicago. He is an interdisciplinary scholar, writer, critic, and chief editor of the South Asian Avant-Garde anthology. His work has appeared in The Nation, NPR, LA Reviews of Books, The Baffler, and Dissent, among others. He is also the Editor of  South Asian Avant-Garde (SAAG): A Dissident Literary Anthology South Asian Avant-Garde (SAAG) is a literary anthology that features intimate incendiary fiction, essays, journalism, plays, poetry, and hybrid, multimedia work. It reclaims dissident and collaborative traditions excised from South Asian histories, and forges new radical communities. Transgression, experimentation, and true radicalism are rare and expensive in a world structured around majoritarian consensus, conformity, and party-line loyalism. This is especially true for minority voices, who are routinely devalued. SAAG commits to valuing creative labor to amplify South Asian voices that are imagining and building better and freer futures for us all. Poet, writer, advocate, and speaker for Cysters, Nikita Chadha (she/her) joined Evelyn (she/her) to share her personal experiences of mental health and endometriosis as a British Indian woman. In the episode, Nikita unpacks how whiteness and femininity still dominate current representations of endometriosis and how she is challenging this with Cysters. Nikita also talked about managing, navigating and receiving treatment for mental health and chronic illness within the NHS and how this has informed both her Cysters advocacy work and her poetry.
