When human rights activist Karima Baloch is found drowned off the shores of Toronto, an investigation into her mysterious death leads all the way back to Pakistan, the country she had recently fled.
In this six-part series, host Mary Lynk explores the rampant abductions and killings of dissidents in Pakistan, the dangers that follow those who flee to the West, and a terrifying intelligence agency with tentacles around the globe. How did Karima die? And would Pakistan really carry out an assassination far beyond its borders? This is a story that a powerful state doesn’t want you to know.

Deeply agonizing
From the very first episode, this podcast reels you in. Gives one pause about how much we take for granted in the freedoms in the “free world”. It’s a shame we don’t have the plight of the Balochs highlighted & spotlighted in our news media. I admire the courage of everyone fighting for their freedom and rights! May they see an end to the tragic ‘disappeared’ phenomenon.
Informative Podcast
I like podcasts that provide a learning experience. This is an interesting albeit at times dramatic show about Pakistan and it’s persecution of ethnic minorities. I learned something.
Well done and powerful story
When stories take one person’s story and connect them to a larger issue, it’s impactful. Excellent journalism, investigations and storytelling.
