I’m not surprised that this gets 5 stars from everybody

I rarely leave reviews of all the excellent long-form storytelling SF and horror podcasts I’ve heard (I’ll try to do better), but let me tell you: I am writing this *minutes* after listening to the last devastating episode.

I am not exaggerating when I say this: I will never forget this story. The whole story is 5 episodes long, and it is, well, devastating and unforgettable. The plot, the actors, the singular sound effects that depict horrendous things in a kind of abstract way (you’ve never heard anything like this), and finally, the heart and anguish of what it is to be human. Listen to this. I’m not kidding.

It’s a musical

Soooooo… I like the characters and the attempt at story building between them. The voice actors have gorgeous voices which are truly pleasant to hear. I’m incredibly appreciative of that. It’s surprising how rare that actually is. Anyways.

You should know:
1: This audio drama is most definitely what they would call a musical in the movie industry.
2: the music the creators of this show use is a very specific kind of music. Because it’s not the kind of music I spend time around I can’t be certain what they call it. Folk maybe? I grew up on a hippie commune and the adults who joined that commune in the 70’s and then went on to birth me and my friends there- those adults loved this kind of music. My childhood was drowned in this kind of music. I personally can’t stand being anywhere near it now. The kind of music that takes me to my happy place and that I choose to listen to now that I get to have a choice- leans more towards the heavy metal and/or drum & bass. Soooooo…it goes without saying that the music featured here in this podcast? Yeah. No thank you. I still gave it a listen but would skip through the songs or turn the volume waaaaaaay down until the torture was over.
3: Last thing I wanted to mention is that the people who made this truly do love the music they play here. They have that “I’m a fan and proud of it. And if you don’t like this kind of music yet …here sit down and I am going to teach you what real music is!” So if you like folk music or whatever…you will love the absolute $h!t out of this show!!

Unique Storytelling - Very captivating

I love the production quality, the pacing, and the mix of music and character narrative. Its a very intriguing story thus far and I can’t wait for the next episode.
