    Your desires are not so foreign

    Everyone seems to be on a journey to find life’s purpose, to gather the meaning of life searching far and near for greater purpose and I believe lots of young people have overcomplicated what this journey is and should be. In this episode I try making this overrated and complicated concept very simple with the truth of the word of God and something we often hide, overlook, or can sometimes even be ashamed of, desire. It can be evil, but it can also be the catalyst to defining your future. My prayer is that you take an introspective look at your desires, discern which ones are God given and which ones aren’t, filter appropriately then build your faith and life upon the foundation of knowing what this race you’re running is.     To be, perfected

    As a retired perfectionist, letting go of constantly looking for ways to better myself was quite difficult. It takes humility and revelation to find betterment and perfection in another man, Jesus. Dive into this episode with me where I break down what a couple scriptures in Hebrews tells us about perfection and how we can better commit to this journey called our faith with Christ.     Fight of Flight

    Journey through Mark 5 as we take a psychological approach and view to the demon possessed man’s situation.  A reflection questions: Has your physiological make up caused you to create a fight or flight response to a good thing? Not just a good thing, but a God thing?  There is safety in Christ, not danger, so trust that when you accept him into your life as your Lord and savior, no matter what things look like in the physical, you are spiritually safe and sound. No reason to act or react in defense mode when Jesus knocks on the door to your heart. DISCLAIMER: As a christian, you CANNOT be possessed by demons, you can be Oppressed, but not possessed. In Mark 5 the man is possessed, but I linked his situation to how we live life today in oppression. I hope that brings clarity to some of you guys. Stay Blessed!     Faulty Foundation

    Welcome to another episode of The Layers Podcast! In my last episode, my testimony, I voiced how rocky things were growing up, some things were inevitable, but others were due to poor decisions and cycles of sin I had in my life. I speak about this faulty foundation in this episode and how I had no core to my faith. LOVE!! there's layers to it, and I seemed to not peel until college LOL. Truly understanding love lays a lot of ground work for the foundation you need in this journey with Christ, so stay tuned for my perspective and insight. I know I'm late uploading LOL, this topic of love was really supposed to be handled in the month of love, but we'll start march on a high note and keep it pushing.
