#175 - How to Create a Cozy Space

#175 - How to Create a Cozy Space

We’re about halfway into September, and even though temperatures and even seasons depending on your hemisphere are different right now, something about life shifts when we hit September. And whenever I hit a shift, the importance of my environment is more obvious.
Creating a space that feels safe and cozy, whatever that looks like for you, is important for your mental health. This episode will give you steps on how to do that, but the important thing here is to name the importance of your environment when you’re in the middle of something long or at the start of something new.

Now it’s not fall yet in weather or on the calendar, but it’s getting close. And while you might not think you’re the kind of person who would do a meal formula and very well could be right about that, I’d love to share with you how you might put one together to help your meals come together even more easily over these next few months.

Lists are a big part of our lives, especially in these uncertain times, but I think we sometimes think there’s only one way to make them. That’s not true! So today we’re going to talk about list-making personalities and how we can support what matters in our lives even more with how we approach our lists.

    #172 - Resurrecting Routines

    #172 - Resurrecting Routines

A couple of days ago, I asked folks on Instagram what one word they would use to describe their current relationship with routines. There were very few positive words, words that would indicate that routines are working. Here’s what we’re going to do for the next few minutes. We need to examine our expectations of routine, reframe what routines actually are, and then give you a next step or two to resurrect them.

#171 The Ten Things Saving My Life Right Now

#171 The Ten Things Saving My Life Right Now

I know that top ten lists can be a bit rote, but honestly, there’s something super life-giving for me personally to hear what other people are finding joy in. It gives me ideas of course, but more than that, it reminds me to pay attention to my own life and be even more intentional about nurturing the things in my day that give me a lot of joy. So I hope this list does that for you today!
Stuff Mentioned In a turn of events that no one expected, least of all me, I’m a nail polish person. I ride or die for Olive & June nail polish.
Having a summer meal formula is saving me this summer. I talk about that idea here and share my own here.
I was influenced by Bri McKoy to get these joggers even though they cost around 80 dollars. For sweatpants. But my life is changed and here we are.
My beloved Penny and Sparrow have a new album out.

choose your own adventure

Lazy Genius practices truly have been life changing for me! Before subscribing to the podcast, I listened Kendra’s book Audible. I am so glad this podcast exists so I can keep adding fuel to my Lazy Genius fire :) I so appreciate that this is more of a loving, choose-your-own-adventure version of self help rather than a rigid prescription or formula. Kendra helps you own what matters to you and everything builds off of that. Can’t recommend enough! Check out her book too!
