    Work Friends

    Work Friends

Neil shares the most important evidence-based competencies a leader needs to embody for work and career success. Driven by a video posted on social media that could be easily interpreted as "angry black woman", Neil makes it clear how leaders can sabotage their own career without careful attention to their choices and responses.
Neil Edwards is the host of The Leadership Range, he is a mindset coach who works with leaders on the four dimensions that determine their future: leadership, relationships, well-being and inclusion. His clients are on a journey to become increasingly inclusive, confident leaders, who are moving from leading some to leading everyone. He believes to become a great leader requires a willingness to challenge fixed beliefs, blind spots and shadows, biases, fears, old habits, and much or the rationalizations that profoundly keep leaders stuck.

Words May Tear Us Apart (w/ Neil Edwards)

Neil discusses how words get in the way of advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts. He uses the old childhood rhyme “Sticks and Stones” to highlight the error many were taught at an early age. In this episode he uses two scenarios to outline harmful and unproductive behaviors present in J.E.D.I work and invites leaders to be more relationally intelligent in their interactions in service of advancing racial justice.

Wisdom beyond the corporate world

Everyone should listen. Leadership Range is insightful, engaging and important, now more than ever. It is a valuable tool to build understanding and genuinely improve relationships and systems. Listening to this podcast feels like spending time with friends as they have real, vulnerable conversations. As a white woman, I appreciate being allowed access to eavesdrop on Black and brown experts discussing topics from their perspectives.

Leadership Gems Even In the Intro

Anytime I see something from LC I know it’s going to be real and relevant. What blows my mind is the intentionality of SHARING ones platform. Too many times people succeed and only worry about succeeding MORE only by themselves. The simple fact that Zach is sharing his platform with another black brother is symbolic and significant to what we need more of in this world. As we actually dig into the content of this first podcast, more insights were shared. Insights like high performers actually still needing a coach, understanding the range of what too look for in a coach, and also modeling the mindset needed to be coached were all critical takeaways (and this is just the INTRO). I can’t wait engage in this journey and thank you Living Corporate again for “lifting as you climb”.
