Turn your Passion into a Business with Paul Alegado | Ep. 9

"Finding a side hustle" has been one of the buzz words in the past decade with many more people looking to make their passion profitable. Some people take on multiple jobs, some look to the stock market to invest in the next tech giant, and some put their passion at the forefront by starting their own business.  During the past year alone, with the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment and majority of the population staying at home, there has been a surge of people launching their personal businesses from home. The cost of living (specially in Vancouver) is rising exponentially and unfortunately, most 9-5 jobs are not booming at the same rate. Love to cook/bake? Start a homemade food business!  Enjoy doing arts and crafts? Start a DIY crafting business! Enjoy cleaning your car? Start a car detailing side hustle! In this episode, our guest Paul, shares with us his experience in starting his own business a few years ago and turning a couple of his side projects to small businesses. Born and raised in Hawaii, Paul is a Professional Engineer who thrives in the AV industry, a family man, a man of faith who regularly volunteers his time to church, and a small business owner in Vancouver, BC. He shares with us a few gems of wisdom that will help us in starting our own side hustle, and most importantly, how to make it successful. Are you looking to start your own business? Put this episode on repeat and launch your business! Share this episode with your friends and to anyone who needs that little push to take a leap in sharing their passion with the rest of the world. It Doesn't Cost Anything to be Nice | Ep. 8

In this episode, our guest Mikko, shares with us his experience in becoming a new father during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vancouver, BC. We also discuss topics on the struggles faced by POCs today, and the identity crisis experienced by many Filipino immigrant teenagers trying to "fit in" in a new society. Many points discussed in this episode really hit home for me as I have experienced them personally and I know people who are close to me who have had similar experiences. We barely scratch the surface in this episode because there are many more struggles that Filipino immigrant teenagers face from not only adjusting to a foreign culture, but to also finding a sense of belonging within their own community.  Can you relate to what Mikko and I talked about in this episode? Share this episode with your friends, and if you're comfortable, let us know what other struggles that you encountered as you adjusted to a new society. Happy listening and always remember that "it doesn't cost anything to be nice". Follow The Life Times Podcast on Instagram @thelifetimespodcast Not using Spotify?
