I originally reviewed the show in its early days giving it five stars, however as the show grew on I found myself more and more confused
To start the feed now has three different things mixed into it. Greyscale, one shots and Fifth watch
Greyscale: 2 stars
It’s a confusing mess in my opinion, I want to like the characters but we get so little of them while stakes escalate quickly. With ten cast members we can have 6-9 hours of listening without hearing some of them making it difficult to grow attached to them. Also perhaps it’s a not paying enough attention aspect but I can barely follow the story, and if I have to be completely focused to get this one it’s not worth it to keep listening. There are other actual plays that can tell a coherent story that makes me want to focus or won’t leave me confused if I miss a few details. With greyscale ended perhaps the feed overall will get better, but as it is a part of the feed it contributes to its score
Oneshots: 3 stars
The oneshots that tried to add to the greyscale universe muddle the story further. The separate story one shots are usually easier to follow and more fun however details can still be muddled due to large casts
Fifth watch: 4 stars
At the moment the only thing keeping me subscribed to the feed. I like the characters and am actually rooting for them. The story isn’t moving at a real rapid pace which means missing a name or two is not the end of the world about 4 issues in the show seems to be going well, but in general will need to release consistently to tell a more overarching story
