#100 TOMMY SCHULTZ: END GENERATIONAL POVERTY WITH SCHOOL CHOICE

We are so pumped for our 100TH EPISODE on The Mark Howley Show! Tommy Schultz, CEO of American Federation for Children, returns for his second time celebrating a huge win. AFC has gained a political victory as the first Education Freedom Tax Credit established under the One, Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump on July 4, 2025. School choice, and the mission of the AFC is to dismantle zip code doom which is children bound to poor education and dismal futures defined by the sheer luck of birth location. Tommy--along with many other parents and supporters of School Choice-- are elated to see the country acknowledging the devastation of public school systems perpetuating generational poverty in certain areas. Learn how YOU and YOUR CHILDREN can look up ways to benefit from school choice in your area. This just published by Tommy in the Wall Street Journal in June 2026, “[Govenors] can opt their state in with the certainty that a student in any setting—public, private, even home schools in many states—can be eligible to receive scholarship funding. There will be clear rules to prevent misspending.” All resources linked below. Let this episode stir some feelings in you! It got us pumped up for the work AFC is doing for the underprivileged children in our country. We hope you enjoyed this episode. Please like, share, follow and/or subscribe for more similar content. #99 CONNIE CLOTWORTHY: LET'S STOP THE NEXT SCHOOL SHOOTING

We absolutely LOVED talking with Connie Clotworthy, Founder of Worthy Beyond Purpose on The Mark Howley Show, bringing her passion and knowledge for serving mindfulness in elementary schools across LA. When we asked what impact this work is having she shared a startling line..."we may have already prevented the next school shooting." Connie and her team are heading into school systems to teach children as young as eight years old the profound skill of mindfulness, emotional regulation and resilience through breath and meditation. Connie discussed some big topics: how WBP exploded in 2020 during pandemic chaos, why we need to arm young children with emotional resiliency to prevent conflict and perhaps reduce school shootings, and the stories of young children taking control of their chronic anxiety and/or ADHD. Worthy Beyond Purpose is an in school curriculum based in LA providing weekly mindfulness and meditation practices to elementary school children. The curriculum runs the entire school year and this year their impact report reads "30% less school conflict in the last 5 years serving over 1,600 children." You can head to their website to read the impact reports as well as access their full offerings including online options for those outside of LA. Connie offers a FREE meditation on Zoom every Wednesday 10am PT for all ages--the whole family can participate!
