E133 - George T. Stagg Bourbon (2023)
What else is there to say? It's BTAC season! For this week, we taste and review one of the most revered bourbons in all of the land which is George T. Stagg. Coming from the annual release of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, this years version is a little over 15 years in age and clocks in at a blistering 135 proof. This bourbon is the shear definition of premium. Even though we were passed over again for media samples by BT, Kenny hustled his *ss off to get us this bottle. So, is GTS the standard bearer? The almighty? The granddaddy of them all? In years past, that's certainly been the case....but what about this year? You'll have to listen to find out. Spoiler alert: this is by far the most complicated pass, try, or buy in the history of the podcast!

E132 - Legent Yamazaki Cask Finished Blend
The whiskey that we taste and review this week started out as an 8-year old Kentucky bourbon and then traveled to Japan for finishing in wine, sherry, and ex-yamazaki casks. Woooo! That's a voyage that even Jefferson's would be jealous of. This limited release collaboration from Beam Suntory is the first of it's kind -- but, is it any good? You'll have to listen to find out. Join us this week as we talk about gas station sushi and try to figure out who the other dude is. Also, you'll get to hear a story about how one of us was mistaken for a comedic icon. We are always happy to share our Friday with you! Cheers.

E131 - Old Pogue Master’s Select Bourbon Whiskey
Maysville, Kentucky is known as the “birthplace of bourbon” and this week we taste and review a whiskey that dates all the way back to 1876. Old Pogue Master’s Select is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey that is produced in very small batches and only available in a handful of states. The original Pogue Distillery closed its doors in 1920, suffering the same fate as many other brands during prohibition. The 5th and 6th generations of the Pogue family revived the brand in 2004 and built a new distillery in 2012. They have been producing bourbon and rye ever since and you will be getting our take on one of their core products. You’ll also get to hear about a recent barrel pick experience that we had at Four Roses amongst other lively banter. Enjoy your Thanksgiving hangover and thanks for spending your Black Friday with us!

E130 - Michter's 10 Year Bourbon
Michter's 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been around for quite some time. While "M10" bourbon is always a favorite amongst Michter's fans and enthusiasts alike, the 2023 release has been receiving some very praiseworthy reviews. Even though we could take the word of others about this years release, it's always more fun to find out for ourselves! Join us this week as we reflect on the third annual Mashup Halloween extravaganza, tease a recent barrel pick that we went on, and also celebrate the birthday of one of our own. But, most importantly of all, you will get to hear our take on this coveted bottle of bourbon.

E129 - Old Ezra 7 Year Straight Rye Whiskey
Lux Row Distillers has put out some excellent products over the last few years. Even though you've heard of Blood Oath and Double Barrel Bourbon, the bottle we've chosen for this week is probably sitting on a shelf somewhere near you. Old Ezra 7 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey, is a bold and robust rye that is a blend of two different MGP mashbills. This bottle definitely flies under the radar, but should it? Join us this week as we taste and discuss this whiskey, discuss an unfortunate incident at Starbucks, and offer out listeners some free samples (maybe). Happy Fryeday!

E128 - Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey
In 2018, Woodford Reserve debuted their Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey. As the third permanent extension of the Woodford line and the increasing popularity of malt whiskeys, we felt it necessary to sip and review this shelfie. This whiskey is a barely malt (coming in at 51% malt/47% corn/2% rye) and the tastings notes emphasize nutty characteristics and chocolate. Is that what we will taste? You never know. Join us this week as we talk about a recent barrel pick experience at the famed Woodford Reserve Distillery, binning bottles on enthusiast markets, and all the wild tasting notes that you might encounter if you try Woodford products.

A kentucky woman learns to love Bourbon!
I am a Kentucky woman born and raised and have never been able to like, or even appreciate bourbon. When I turned 50 in February of 2023 I made a list of 50 things to do in my 50th year. One of the things I really wanted, was at the very least, to learn to appreciate bourbon. 24 distillery tours and tastings later I get it. In fact, I love it!! I’ve learned a lot by listening to your podcast and my list of whiskeys to find grows every week. It’s really so much fun!! Thanks for all the good information and for helping this Kentucky woman learn more about bourbon!! All the best! Jennifer
I like it
2 of the 3 hosts are pretty good, not sure what’s up with the other dude.
Most informative and entertaining podcast around
Hellowwwwww. The Mash up is by far one of the best whiskey podcasts out there. The guys’ straight forward and honest reviews combined with their hilarious banter always leaves me wanting more episodes and recommendations. Keep up the great reviews and suggestions for those in or visiting the Lexington area. I live out of state and have my list building for the next time I’m able to visit.
Cheers. Rob
