Most people don’t peel the curtain back to share the messy progress, we only see the sexy, shiny outcome and frankly, I’m over it.   It’s not real life.

Hi! I’m Adrienne Smith, the queen and the host of Messy Progress.  I am a wellness coach, world record holder, mother, entrepreneur, business owner, wife, friend, sister, Messy Progress podcast host, trip sitter and a whole lot of other labels on any given day depending on who you are asking, but most of all, I’m human.  Every Thursday I’ll shine a light on what lives behind the highlight reel and dive into how making a mess leads to success.

I constantly find myself asking questions like, “Is this really what life is suppose to look like?”  “Is this it?”  “Is there more?” I live for reigniting your passion and supporting you in getting unstuck. If you crave inspiration and need a swift kick in the pants - I’ve got you.  We’re going to go from indecisive to determined, from confined to full on liberated through shockingly relatable conversations, eye-opening interviews and stories.

You will get tips and tools necessary to take the next right steps towards living into your unwavering confidence in the boardroom, the bedroom and in all of your relationships - especially the one with yourself.

It’s time to get messy, uncage ourselves and set ourselves free. Welcome to messy progress.

    In this episode, we delve deep into the fascinating world of cannabis, exploring its potential as a life-enhancing tool and shedding light on the shortcomings of the infamous "Say No to Drugs" campaign. Together we navigate through the murky waters of drug education campaigns and examine why the simplistic "Just Say No" message has proven to be ineffective and counterproductive and the new slogan “Just Say Wait” has been adopted. Nobody likes being told no, and it's high time we rethink our approach to substance education.
    We also explore the concept of choice and readiness in the context of cannabis consumption. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just curious, we emphasize that responsible use and education are key to harnessing the plant's potential for wellness and self-discovery.
    Tune in to this thought-provoking episode, where we challenge the status quo, champion the power of knowledge, and advocate for a more nuanced perspective on cannabis. It's time to empower yourself and make informed choices that could potentially enhance every aspect of your life.
    Amanda Reiman PhD, MSW is the founder of Personal Plants, is an activist, social worker, and researcher with twenty years of experience studying the relationship between people and plants. Amanda was also the first chairwoman of the Medical Cannabis Commission for the City of Berkeley and taught classes on drug use and policy at UC Berkeley for over a decade. She strives to empower, enlighten and guide others to take their cannabis journey into their own hands by spreading knowledge and access to information and inspiration.

“FitWhit” ,

Thought provoking and inspiring

I’ve listened to several of Adrienne’s podcasts and am always looking forward to the next one! She is a true fitness leader in Santa Barbara and I admire her grit and talent as an athlete, and also as a business person. I was originally interested in hearing more about her gutsy row across the Pacific, but there are many fascinating subjects she and guests address. Her podcast gives us the opportunity to really get to know what’s underneath what we see on the surface. I love how she relates to the folks she brings on the show; there’s a deep connection and respect there. She is brutally honest at times about relationships, parenting, etc., which is refreshing- we all have highs and lows and she’s one of us! As a woman about a decade older than her, I’m inspired by her go-for -it attitude. Thanks Adrienne!

The way I R ,

Relatable. Adventurous.Honest conversations from the heart.

Normalizes messiness of any type of progress. Leaves any curious mind inspired to take a step forward amidst the mess.

@DavidRachford ,

Adrienne's Messy Progress is cleaning up!

I like the direction Adrienne has taken this podcast, and the audio quality has gotten a lot better than the first couple of episodes, which were admittedly messy. This podcast is a good mix of the challenges every day people have around relationships, parenting, and running a business. I always get something from these practical tips plus some aspirational ideas of where I want to take things in my own life. Messy progress is better than no progress!
