Marketing Musings

The space for musings on marketing that are too chaotic for a carousel, not strategic enough for an algorithm to deem them valuable, or polished enough for a post. Just honest reflections on the art and psychology of marketing, from someone who loves it, questions it, and lives it.  - By Emma Orlando

S2 Ep24 Why Your Marketing Needs You To Stop Outsourcing Your Genius

This week, I'm exploring a theme that feels deeply personal and one I know many of you are sitting with right now. I stumbled across the Gene Key that sits at the heart of my life's purpose (Gate 48), and honestly? It stopped me in my tracks. The shadow of this gate is inadequacy, that persistent feeling of not being enough, not knowing enough, and constantly seeking someone outside of ourselves to hand us the answers. I'm talking about the ways we outsource our genius: through endless investments, qualifications, AI, psychics, business coaches, cookie-cutter strategies all in a bid to escape the discomfort of not knowing. But what if that discomfort is actually the gateway? What if the void, the uncertainty, the not-knowing is exactly where your truest wisdom is waiting? I also touch on how this shows up in marketing, specifically why the most alive, magnetic content comes from your own inner flow state, not from borrowed language and strategies handed to you by someone else. The guru era is dying, the influencer culture is collapsing, and we're being called into a new paradigm where wisdom lives within, not on someone else's pedestal. If you've been feeling that itch that something isn't quite fitting anymore, this one's for you. Ep18 The Muse Isn't Fragile... and Your Marketing Needs You To Remember That

In this episode, I’m coming to the mic from a bit of a funky state of being. I’ve just returned from a life-changing trip where I felt like my most aligned and expressed self and I’m navigating what it means to land back in an environment that doesn’t immediately feel like that. I talk about the creative crisis I slipped into. The dramatic thought that I might “never create again.” And how sitting with that part of me led me to a deeper realisation: The muse isn’t fragile. We’ve just been taught to mould her until she is. In this episode, I explore: Why expressing through creativity alters your entire state of beingHow marketing stopped being about “sharing to sell” and became a space where I feel fully expressedThe danger of starting from strategy instead of alivenessWriting from anxiety, chaos, heartbreak and doubt and why those pieces still matterWhy marketing without creativity is just words on a pageHow to return to yourself as the gracious muse of your own marketingIf you’ve been doubting your creativity…  If you’ve been waiting for the perfect conditions…  If you’ve felt like your voice has gone quiet… This one is for you.
