She came from stability, which is why she did not recognize abuse when it appeared as passion, intensity, and being someone’s whole world. What began as her first love slowly turned into control, jealousy, manipulation, and fear. Sonia opens up about becoming a young mother, losing her independence, and staying longer than she wanted out of fear and survival. She shares the reality of leaving, the financial strain, the mom guilt, and how trauma followed her into work, dating, and her sense of self. Through therapy, faith, and the support of others, Sonia began to heal and rebuild her identity.
