236 - The Formula for Faithfulness

236 - The Formula for Faithfulness

236 - The Formula for Faithfulness
    Notes By Mike Lorence
    Three Components of Success
In the mid-1700’s it could take two weeks for a letter to travel from New York City to Philadelphia, a distance of 109 miles. Transatlantic mail could take months. By the mid-1800s mail could travel from Jefferson City, Missouri to San Francisco, California, over 2400 miles, in as little as 24 days. By 1860 the Pony Express delivered mail over 2000 miles in just less than 8 days. Then came the telegraph and other technological advances and now we can send an email anywhere in the world and it’s received in seconds. Mail delivery is just one simple example but for most of mankind’s history, it took time for anything to happen.
But over recent years our society has become a NOW generation. We want everything and we want it immediately. Right now. No waiting. Instant gratification. There’s even a commercial that states, “It’s my money and I need it NOW!” So it can be a difficult concept to understand faithfulness. What is it and how do I get it NOW?
Ephesians 1:1 (KJV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
How can we arrive at the point of truly being “faithful in Christ Jesus?” Is there a formula to help us achieve success at being faithful like those believers in Ephesus? If so, what would it be?
There are three components in our formula.
    1.Commitment
    2. Dedication
    3. Faithfulness
    Commitment
Let’s take a look at the first component in the formula – Commitment.
Commitment is the act of entrusting, or giving in trust; it is a promise or pledge to do something.
TRUST = Total Reliance Upon Spiritual Timing
Without commitment, we will accomplish nothing. Yet everyone is committed to something.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV) 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Our number one commitment should be to God.
Psalms 37:5 (KJV) 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) 3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
How can you tell when someone is committed to Something? There are corresponding actions that go along with the words.
    Dedication
There’s a second component to our formula for faithfulness. It’s dedication. Once you’ve committed your ways and works unto the Lord and put Him first, you have to be dedicated to staying with it. Dedication is setting yourself apart for a special purpose, devoting one's time, energy, and effort to that purpose.
1 Samuel 1:11, 27-28 (AMP) 11 She [Hannah] made a vow, saying, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the
affliction (suffering) of Your maidservant and remember, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life; a razor shall never touch his head.” 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my  request which I asked of Him.  28 Therefore I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the Lord.”
And they worshiped the Lord there. In these verses, we see that Hannah first committed herself to God, and then she followed through with the dedication necessary to raise her child so that his life would be in the service
    of the Lord.
Romans 12:1-2 (AMP) 1 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your
bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and wellpleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [fo

In this Biblical Research Studies teaching, we're going to look at "The Mission of Jesus Christ." After the fall of Adam and the loss of spirit and Adam transferring the power, authority, and dominion over to God's arch-enemy, the devil.  God Had a plan to reinstate spirit, to pay the price for sin, and give mankind back his uncondemned condition. To give mankind everything that Adam lost and more. This study is a foundation framework of the mission that Jesus Christ was called to accomplish for all of mankind.
With the loss of spirit, mankind had no connection with God through the spirit. Exodus 3:1 - 4 "Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I."
1 Samuel 10:10 "And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them."
Spirit from God was on a relatively few people and it says that it was upon them. Not like with us, Christ within us. And they could lose it.
1 Samuel 16:14 "But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him."
But God had a plan to make it available for mankind to once again have spirit.
Joel 2:28 & 29 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit."
Isaiah 52:13 "Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high."
This is talking about God's servant, like it says in Philippians, which will look at later, Jesus Christ took on him the form of a servant.
Isaiah 52:14 & 15 "As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider."
Isaiah 53:1 -5, 6 "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he [Jesus Christ] shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no fo

    or
    Formed, Made, and Created
    Notes by Steve Jaynes

God bless you all in the mighty and Powerful name of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly. The following are my notes for the latest podcast show entitled 'Body, Soul, and Spirit.' I have all the scriptures written out so it will be easy for you to follow along. Give a listen.
This subject is foundational and is vitally important for us to know to accurately understand the Bible. God originally created, formed, and made man as a three-fold being, with a body, soul, and spirit. With an understanding of 'Body, Soul and Spirit' we can better understand the mission of Jesus Christ and all that he had to accomplish and all that he did accomplish in His earthly life and ministry.
Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
God formed the body out of the dust of the ground. Remembering that God is Spirit. We've learned that from John 4:24. We can see here from Genesis 1 26 and 27 that God created man in his own image. Spirit was recorded first in Genesis.
Genesis 1:26 – 27 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
We can see that the words formed, made, and created line up with the words, body soul, and spirit. Further demonstrating the three parts of man.
Isaiah 43:7 “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
Looking at 'breath of life' God breathed into his nostrils breath life which means made him a living soul. That is what's makes you, you me, me and Adam Adam. Adam became a living soul.
Genesis 3:19 “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
The body goes back to the dust from whence it came. If you were to look at all the chemicals that are in the human body you would see that all the chemicals are in the ground also.
Ecclesiastes 3:20 “All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.”
Let's look at 'breath of life' with a little more detail.
Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”
God calls having a breath life as having a living Soul or being alive. One of the things you can see from God's Word is that life starts with the first breath. It also ends with the last breath. Once again everything goes back to its original form. Our first breath then someday we take our last breath.
Genesis 35:18 “And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.”
1 Peter 3:20 “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
When it says souls here it's talking about a

God bless you all in the mighty and Powerful name of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly. The following are my notes for the latest podcast show entitled 'Perfect Worship.' I have all the scriptures written out so it will be easy for you to follow along. Give a listen. Click on the title to hear the show.
When or if you were to look around at different churches, fellowships, and places where people gather together to worship God you would learn or see how people worship God. Both when they gather together or in their own private prayer lives. You would see many different ways of worshiping. In this study, we want to look and see what God calls true worship and why.
John 4:3 – 23 “He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And he must needs go through Samaria. 5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. 17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: 18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. 19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
True worship is the perfect worship. It is something that God has designed to have been done perfectly. Something that will bypass the five senses of man altogether. Something that man's thoughts and ideas are not included in. Just seeing God's will and renewing their mind to do what God has called true worship for us to do.
John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
It is not in images that man could make up. It is not the way the man sits or stands. It's not in the way they hold their hands, crawl, or hurt themselves. It is not in hurting of any kind. It is not in sacrifice. It's not worshipping of things man-made or animals or even people. It's the way that God wants it

    Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
    I Corinthians 15:12-19
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
    :19 & 20
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
    :49-57
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    I Thessalonians 4:16-18
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
    Philippians 3:20 & 21
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
    I Corinthians 15:54-57
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    :58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
    II Timothy 4:6 & 7
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
    :8
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, th

Ephesians 1:2, 6 & 7 “Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”
    Grace be to you.
Ephesians 2:5 – 10 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
    We all have it.
Ephesians 3:2 – 8 “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;”
    From Paul to us.
Ephesians 4:7, 29, “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
We all got all that is and was available. Now we building each other up.
Ephesians 6:24 “Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. To the Ephesians written from Rome, by Tychicus.”
Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. That is you.
Philippians 1:2 – 10 “Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;”

We're all partakers of Paul's grace.
Philippians 4:23 “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. To the Philippians written from Rome, by Epaphroditus.>”
The last verse in this chapter ends with “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.”
