    Believers have two great tools: the Bible and the holy spirit. We need to use them.
    Timothy 2:1 – 2 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings [doesn't apply in the USA], and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
    Our first Duty as Saints meeting in Fellowship is to pray. This is primary in way of Outreach.
    Verse 1: For all men and people, we are to pray for all.
    Verse 2 states that all in authority are the ones responsible for governing. To sum up, in one word, the government. It says we are to pray for our government first.
    This does not usually happen. Lots of other groups get prayers before the government.
    We are to pray that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty or reverence to God. The Constitution of the United States sums up that we should live a quiet and Peaceful life and all honesty in reverence to God.
    Timothy 2:3 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;”
    The word 'this' in the context refers to government, good government. God's will is for us to have a good government, and we are to expect good government.
    Why good government? It is God's will that all men be saved, have salvation, and come to an accurate knowledge of the truth. Good government makes it possible for all men to be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word.
    1 Timothy 2:4 “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
    Why good government? God's will for mankind to be saved was so intense that he had Jesus Christ sacrifice his life for all people. Believing in Jesus Christ's accomplishments now makes salvation available to all people. That is one reason to pray for good government. We should have the same aspirations and feelings as God does for others. But people need to come to an accurate knowledge of the truth to get saved.
    Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
    God needs preachers. Which kind of government would be better, good or bad? Good government maintains Law and Order and a sound infrastructure, keeps Communications open, preserves civil liberties, and protects freedom of speech and assembly. These are all in the Constitution of the United States. Good government helps the preaching of the Word. Bad government hinders the preaching of the Word.
    God wants us to pray for our government and expect good government. If we know that God's will is good government, we can pray for it and expect it.
    James 1:6 – 7 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the

    I did a biblical studies session on the Last Supper through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is podcast episodes 288 through 295, eight episodes. I read every record chronologically from all four Gospels of every event from The Last Supper through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
    To help the listener follow along, I have arranged the Scriptures in chronological order, reading from one gospel to another in each event one at a time. The Syllabus for each episode is in the Show Notes with the Podcast. The teaching can be found on the podcast and on my website, stevejaynes.com.
    Jesus had two triumphant entrances into Jerusalem, where everyone loved him. He had just healed Lazarus, who had been dead for four days. Everybody in Jerusalem heard about it. The people loved him and started to follow him.
    The scribes and chief priests wanted to have him destroyed, saying, “It would be better for one man to die than that we lose our place in Jerusalem.” Jesus Christ became Public Enemy Number One.
    John 13:1 “Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
    How would anyone act if they knew that this was going to happen next? Think about an outlaw who knew his time was up.
    We see that this was not the Passover meal. The Passover had many stipulations, like the Passover Lamb having to be a male of the first year, the Passover meal being eaten standing up, and the Passover lamb being slain outside the city's gates. You can read about other stipulations in The Book of Exodus. Not to mention that Jesus Christ was our Passover Lamb a few days later.
    Mark 14:17 “And in the evening he [Jesus] cometh with the twelve.”
    This is the start of the new day, Monday the thirteenth of Nisan, which started at sunset.
    At the Last Supper, Jesus Christ installed the memorial of the Communion, which we still have today. This is a very simple figure of speech called a metaphor, which is stronger than a simile. A simile compares two things using the words 'like’ or 'as.' A metaphor uses the word 'is,' which can be replaced by the phrase 'represents.' 'This bread represents my body,' etc.
    The Passover was a memorial also to help Israel to remember what God did in getting Israel out of Egypt. They were to remember it yearly with many stipulations and things to do. We have many memorials to help us not forget, pictures, like statues, and other things to help us remember events in our country. The Communion is a memorial to help us remember. It starts with Jesus Christ at a common eating and drinking a meal commonly found at a dinner table, just like it is with us. Every meal commonly has bread and something to drink.
    Luke 22:14-16 “And when the hour [the hour supper was to begin] was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16For I say unto you, I will not any more

    1 Thessalonians 4:13 - “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

    The following are the notes from the podcast. “432 – The New Heavens and Earth.” I have all the Scriptures written out, so it will be easy for you to follow along as you listen. 
    On the podcast show notes below, I have a way for people to ask me questions. When anyone asks a biblical question, I try to help them find the answers. Recently, someone asked about the new Heaven and the new Earth. This is how I answer the question. 
    Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven[s] and the earth.”
    In Hebrew, the first word is God. God created the heavens with an s and the Earth in the beginning. God always comes first in life, and we always try to keep God first in our lives. The first word is God, and this is the first time the word created is used in the Bible. The only one who can create is God. Sometimes, people say they created things like music or art; they bring something into the laboratory and put two components together, and they create something new. That's not creating. Creating is bringing something into existence that has never been there before. God is the only one who can do that. The word create is only used three times in the opening chapters of Genesis.
    Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was [became] without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
    The word 'was' was not there. It should be the word became. The word became without form and void empty. The word void means empty. Not created that way but became that way.
    Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”
    God did not create it this way. Something happened between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 of a catastrophic situation, Something of a destructive situation that destroyed what God first created. Something happened that we need to be aware of. In my class on “How to Read the Bible for Understanding and Power," I have a section of the class that deals with the first three chapters of Genesis. It's episode number 353. The class is on my website. I get into what happened between Genesis 1:1 and 1 2 which is not part of the scope of what I'm teaching today. You ought to know it, and you can go to the episode and listen.
    2 Peter 3:5 & 6 “For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:”
    The world that was is talking about Genesis 1:1.
    2 Peter 3:7 “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
    This is talking about the world in which we now live and is still going on.

    The following are the notes from the podcast. “431 – Reading Esther Part 2.” I have all the Scriptures written out, so it will be easy for you to follow along as you listen. 
    After I do a summary of what happened in Reading Esther part 1, I start reading in Esther chapter 4, verse 1
    I read two verses from chapter 3 to prepare us to continue reading in chapter 4.
    Esther 3:13 & 15 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. 115 The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.”
    Esther 4:1 – 17 “When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; 2 And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. 3 And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. 4 So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not. 5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was. 6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate. 7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. 8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people. 9 And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. 10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai; 11 All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days. 12 And they told to Mordecai Esther's words. 13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. 14 For
