The Nielson Show - EST Golf Classic

Pack your bags, polish your irons, and get the carts warmed up, Nasties! Today is officially the finest day on the summer calendar—it is the day of the 3rd Annual EST Golf Classic!Because the boys are heading out to dominate the fairways, we are coming at you with a special, rapid-fire, action-packed two-hour edition of the show. To be completely honest, we don't have a strict blueprint for where the microphones are going to take us today—it's pure, unfiltered, pre-tournament energy. There will absolutely be some sports talk, a heavy dose of classic golf debate, and plenty of laughs as we get ready for another incredible day out with the best community in sports radio. On Today's Show: The Blue Jays' Bats Finally Wake Up!: Hallelujah, they finally found the win column! After a brutal, soul-crushing mid-summer slide, the Toronto Blue Jays absolutely exploded out on the West Coast yesterday. The offense was booming from the opening pitch, giving fans a massive sigh of relief. We break down the hitting adjustments and debate if this is the spark that can finally turn their summer around. The 6-Team NHL Anarchy Experiment: The NBA completely shattered the internet yesterday by executing a wild, complex 6-team blockbuster trade. Naturally, it got Dusty's gears turning. If the basketball world can pull off a 6-team transaction, why can't the hockey world? Dusty hits the whiteboard to unveil his ultimate, highly chaotic, hypothetical 6-team NHL mega-trade. Wait until you see which superstars get moved in this absolute cap-era simulation. Live from The Ranch with Murray McCourt: To properly set the mood for today's tournament, we welcome in Murray McCourt, General Manager and Executive Golf Professional at The Ranch Golf and Country Club. Murray joins the show to give us a boots-on-the-ground report on how the course is looking for the tournament, how the local 2026 golfing season has been tracking, and what the players can expect from the greens today. EST Golf Classic Time Machine: With the 3rd annual tournament officially kicking off today, the boys take a walk down memory lane to rekindle our absolute fondest, funniest, and most chaotic memories from the first two EST Golf Classics.Hit that LIKE button, SUBSCRIBE to the channel, and fire your score predictions for today's tournament or your thoughts on Dusty's 6-team NHL trade straight into the live chat or text board!

    The Nielson Show - July 6th, 2026 - Hour 2

Former NHL netminder Jamie McLennan joined us for his final hit of the season, and since we missed him last week, we had a massive mountain of Oilers news to clear out. "Noodles" broke down the headlines regarding Edmonton's official plan to carry three goaltenders next season and shared why he actually doesn't hate the approach. From there, we evaluated the Oilers' new-look blue line, tracking how well Stan Bowman navigated the historic Darnell Nurse trade to San Jose. Finally, Jamie mapped out the exact workload split he expects among the three netminders and advised what management should do with their freshly cleared cap space.   It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.   Right after the break, we mapped out the entire CFL Week 5 slate with former league quarterback Chris Streveler. "Strevy" weighed in on the devastating, horrific injury to future Hall of Famer Bo Levi Mitchell that had him carted off the field in Hamilton last night. From there, the conversation shifted to pure dominance under center as we looked at Vernon Adams Jr.'s absolutely absurd tear to start the year. Finally, Chris gave us his take on the local scene, breaking down the Edmonton Elks' first loss of the season and diagnosing exactly what went sideways for the Green and Gold out in BC.   To finish hour two, we got into MMMMMM That's Good presented by The Italian Centre Shop. The third annual EST Golf Classic gets underway this week. How good is that?
