    Mid-September, migrants originally arriving in Texas and Florida started showing up unexpectedly in northern cities like Washington D.C., Chicago and New York City. They were bussed or flown to these locations by taxpayer funded transportation programs from Texas and Florida as a part of a political stunt protesting immigration laws. The response from locals has been generally positive so far: people are provided food, donating winter clothing and giving legal assistance.
