It’s no secret that the pathways we pursue, both professionally and personally, are not linear. They are often characterised by the conflicts, dilemmas, doubts, reservations, sacrifices, obstacles and fears that ultimately shape us as students and people. And this is precisely what this project aims to capture- the complete picture.

    S3E6 ‘There’s a Difference | Saurav Risbud | Textbook Ventures, USYD Business, ‘Launch Codes’ Podcast

    🚨 Saurav is the General Manager at Textbook Ventures- a non-profit organisation that provides a community for students interested in tech and startups. As General Manager, he created the ‘Launch Codes’ podcast which showcases the stories of leaders in the tech, startup and VC industry. He is currently in the last year of a Commerce and Advanced Studies degree at USYD and has gained consulting and investment banking experience at Deloitte, UBS and Visagio.

    S3E5 ‘Aiming High’ | Maya Valentin | Investment Banking, Paralegal, Co-Creator of Greenfuence, Macquarie Uni Law & Finance

    🚨  Maya is a final year student at Macquarie University, studying a double degree of Law and Applied Finance. At uni, Maya was heavily involved in the MQU Women Entering Business society, acting as both President and Chairperson. Having gained experience in several private practice law firms as a Paralegal, she is now an incoming Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America.

    S3E4 'Mind the Gap' | Ryan Nindra | Founder of Starlite, Mentor at Art of Smart, PWC, Macquarie University

    🚨  Ryan is the creator of Startlie, a startup that helps students bridge the gap between university and full-time employment. He works as a Mentor at Art of Smart Education and as an Undergraduate Associate at PWC’s financial services department. He is currently in his final year at Macquarie University, studying Economics & Applied Finance.

    S3E3 ‘Pandora’s Box’ | Aisha Khan | Storks Shipping Founder, UTS Startups, UTS Business

    🔒Aisha is the founder of Storks Shopping, a peer to peer platform that connects customers wanting goods that don’t ship internationally, with locals who can order and forward it to them.     S3E2 Paying it Forward | Vis Vythilingam | KPMG Consultant, Greenfluence Co-Founder, MQU Actuarial Studies

    Vis is the co-founder of Greenfluence, a new online learning community related to sustainability, responsible investing and climate change. Having studied Applied Finance and Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University, he is currently a Consultant at KPMG. He is also a CFA ESG candidate.

    S3E1 'The Bigger Picture' | Hemanshi Kumar | Social Impact, Policy & ESG Research Associate, USYD Arts

    🔒 Hemanshi is currently a Social Impact Research Associate at Foresight Analytics, where she deals with ESG and social impact matters in an investment analytics company. She is passionate about policy and law reform, having held positions at Justice Action, Domestic Violence NSW and Missing Perspectives. She is currently a third year student studying a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and International Relations) at USYD.

    🔒 With season 2 of The Pathways & Padlocks Conversation concluding last week, I’ve put together some of my favourite moments from the season. Looking back, I’m proud of the way the project paints authentic and realistic pictures of how ambitious students navigate the uncertainties of their personal & professional pursuits. Sometimes it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and insecure about these types of stories. Rather than glorifying these stories, I wanted to ground them in a strong sense of reality, humility and truth.   🔒 In doing so, I hope in some small way we were able to provide listeners with a source of confidence and inspiration, particularly in these difficult times. 🔒Stay tuned for Season 3...
