Less than three weeks later, she had swapped the goalkeeping gloves for medical scrubs, and was on the front line of Queensland’s pandemic response as an on-call nurse. The PFA caught up with Casey on her 2019-20 season – a campaign which she was voted by her peers into the PFA’s Team of the Season. We chat through her off-field development and education as well as her career as a registered nurse, and how she has overcome injuries to become a W-League mainstay  and the support she has received through the PFA off the pitch.

    In this episode, the PFA explores how the game can pave a pathway forward following the devastating impact of the coronavirus, including some Big Ideas that can galvanise the sport and drive success.Through the lens of a popular concept made famous by American researcher and author Jim Collins in his book, Good to Great, the PFA has developed a “Football Flywheel”, demonstrating the constituent parts of the game that are required to move football forward.In order to explain the concept in further detail, the PFA have assembled a discussion panel, featuring Socceroo great John Aloisi, Chief Executive John Didulica, Deputy Chief Executive and former Matilda Kate Gill, member federation representative, Peter Filopoulos, CEO of Football Victoria, and former Herald Sun journalist, David Davutovic.
