    Kane vs.Rooney vs Big Al

    Kane is the leader for minutes per goal, taking 127.5 minutes for each of his goals, while Shearer required another 20 minutes and Rooney another 75. The Premier League’s record scorer is a near-perfect comparison for Kane, having reached 200 goals in 306 appearances – Kane broke that record by two when he netted on Sunday. Shearer went on to reach 260 in 14 seasons – as well as 23 for Southampton in what was then known as the First Division prior to 1992 – and is the only player to score a century of Premier League goals for two different clubs having done so with Blackburn and his beloved Newcastle. and then there is Rooney, who spent long stretches of his career playing as less of an out-and-out striker than Shearer or Kane, meaning his statistical profile is slightly different – he never won a Premier League Golden Boot and took 462 matches to bring up his double-century, shortly after returning to his boyhood club Everton.     The Takeover: Jose and Roman

    It all started with the £6 million capture of Glen Johnson in July 2003, and since then Roman Abramovich's Chelsea have gone on to sign a host of the world's finest talent. Since 2003, according to The Sun newspaper, Abramovich has spent a cool £2 billion at Chelsea, with transfer fees and player salaries forming a major part of that outlay. There hasn't been a decade like it in football, and one can only imagine what the next 10 years will bring for Chelsea fans and their Russian owner. Rather than appearing to tighten the purse strings, though, Abramovich's spending continues to rival that of any club across the globe. With the expected return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge this summer, rumors are abound of a £100 million transfer war chest. The Mirror reports this as part of Abramovich's plan to bring back the so-called "glory days" the Blues experienced under their Portuguese manager.     That Night In Istanbul

    The 2005 UEFA Champions League final was the final match of the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, Europe's primary club football competition. The showpiece event was contested between Liverpool of England and Milan of Italy at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on 25 May 2005. Liverpool, who had won the competition four times, were appearing in their sixth final, and their first since 1985. Maradona's Hand of God, Gazza's Italia 90 tears and England thrashing Germany 5-1 in 2001 are among football's most iconic moments, according to a poll of fans. A study of 2,000 football-loving Brits ranked England's 1966 World Cup win as top of the pile, while Gordon Banks' seemingly impossible save from Pele against Brazil in 1970 also made the top five.
