Today is the day we heard Matt Canada talk. How stable is he as the team’s offensive coordinator? Poni has the fear that as long as the coach and QB like him, he will be here to stay. The guys also dove a little bit deeper into the report that Canada has a closer role to Kenny Pickett. 

Could the relationship between Matt Canada and Kenny Pickett become too close, like we saw with Bruce Arians and Ben Roethlisberger? That ended with Arians “retiring” before coming back into the league. Are Steelers fans still spoiled like some other teams’ fans claim?   

Poni is starting to think that Matt Canada gets an extension. The guys jumped back to the discussion about Steelers fans being spoiled. Is it only because they are “in the hunt” every year and Mike Tomlin hasn’t had a losing season?

Matt Canada seemed to be hard on the thought that Najee Harris was the team’s starting RB. The guys still think that Jaylen Warren will force their hand to play him more and more as the season goes. Caller admitted that he’s happy with being .500 every single season all because he used to live in Detroit. 

 Donny gave his stance on Steelers fans being spoiled. A few callers sounded off on the topic. 

KDKA TV legend Bob Pompeani joined the show. Pomp commented on any changes that could be coming with the offense. The guys asked him about the current share at RB between Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren that he expects to continue with the gap possibly getting closer. Bob doesn’t think there is any sort of decision made on Matt Canada yet regarding his future, but the next several weeks could paint a better picture. Pomp said it is time for the offense to start showing off the results and not just talk about it. The guys had Pomp go through some rapid-fire Pittsburgh sports questions.

Steve Palazzolo from Pro Football Focus joined the show. Steve tried to explain the PFF scoring/grading system more and why it doesn’t always consider at what point in the game it happens. Steve talked about the WAR-type stat PFF uses when grading players. Steve explained the good grade for Kenny Pickett and said a lot of it had to do with the long TD pass to Calvin Austin. He got into how pressures can be attributed to the QB and not just the offensive line’s fault. Steve said it feels like Jaylen Warren is the better RB of the pair and pointed out how slow Najee Harris looks at times.
