I'm Finally Using My College Degree (Just Not the Way I Expected) | EP. 238

Three years after graduating from college, I've realized something surprising: I use my college degree every single day—but not in the way I originally expected. In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I reflect on earning my degrees in Sociology and African American Studies and how those experiences continue to shape the way I approach life and business. While I don't directly use my degree in my day-to-day work, I absolutely use the mindset it took to earn it. College during the COVID-19 pandemic taught me how to work through uncertainty, persevere when things got difficult, stay disciplined, and continue moving forward even when the finish line felt far away. Those lessons have become the foundation for how I run Darshaun Smith Productions today. I also share one of the most valuable mindsets I learned from my professor, Dr. Louise Seamster. When you're doing work where progress isn't always visible—whether that's building a business, researching, writing, or creating—it's important to write down what you've accomplished over time. Seeing your progress on paper reminds you that your effort is leading somewhere, even when the results aren't immediate. To close the episode, I talk about how I'm applying this lesson to my own business in 2026. As I continue updating my website, refining my sales funnel, and improving the systems behind Darshaun Smith Productions, I'm reminded that meaningful progress is often built through hundreds of small improvements—not one giant breakthrough. If you've ever questioned whether your past experiences still matter or wondered if your hard work is paying off, this episode is a reminder that every challenge teaches you something valuable. Sometimes the greatest thing you gain isn't a title or a job—it's the mindset that helps you build the life you truly want. Keep showing up. Keep tracking your progress. And remember, success is built one step at a time. 3 Life Lessons 2026 Has Taught Me | EP. 237

In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I reflect on three of the biggest life lessons I've learned so far in 2026. These aren't just ideas—they're lessons that have been shaped by real experiences, challenges, and victories over the past few weeks. Lesson #1: Life is short. None of us knows how much time we have. That's why it's so important to be present, appreciate the people around you, and stop putting your dreams on hold. If there's something you've been wanting to do, today is the best day to start. Lesson #2: Your life is what you make it. You don't get to control everything that happens to you, but you do get to control how you respond. Every decision you make is shaping your future. Run your own race, stop comparing yourself to everyone else, and build a life that reflects your own values and goals. Lesson #3: You can actually do it. Whatever your dream is, it's possible—but only if you're willing to put in the work. It won't happen overnight, and it won't always be easy. There will be setbacks, failures, and moments of doubt. But as long as you keep showing up, learning, and refusing to quit, you're still moving forward. The only true failure is giving up. Throughout this episode, I share personal stories from the past few weeks that reinforced these lessons and reminded me why consistency, discipline, and a positive mindset matter so much. Every experience has brought me one step closer to my goals, and I hope these lessons help you move closer to yours. No matter where you are in your journey, remember this: your life is yours to build. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep believing. Thank you for listening, and as always, stay positive and have a great week. 250 YEARS AND COUNTING: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS STILL HERE!! | EP. 236

In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I reflect on the 250th year of the United States of America and what we can learn from our nation's journey. Throughout history, our country has experienced incredible victories, painful setbacks, political division, wars, and countless disagreements. Yet through it all, people continued to find a way to move forward. I share my perspective on why resilience matters, not only as a nation but also in our own lives. I also discuss comments from Ronald Reagan about the importance of birthright citizenship and the role he believed it played in the success and identity of the United States, using it as part of a broader conversation about our country's past, present, and future. To wrap up the episode, I celebrate a personal milestone. After four years of building Darshaun Smith Productions, this is the first year my business has become profitable. It's a reminder that success rarely happens overnight. It takes patience, consistency, and the willingness to keep showing up, even when the results aren't immediate. Whether we're talking about a nation, a business, or our own personal lives, the message is the same: keep working, keep believing, and keep finding a way forward. Thank you for listening, and as always, stay positive and have a great week. YOU ONLY FAIL WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE UP | EP. 235

In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I talk about one of the most important mindset shifts I've ever made: you only truly fail when you choose to give up. We live in a world where it's easy to compare our lives to everyone else's. Social media, opinions from family and friends, and society's expectations can make us feel like we're behind or not doing enough. But the truth is, your definition of success doesn't have to look like anyone else's. This episode is a reminder that your life is your own. Your goals are unique to you, your journey will have its own timeline, and that's exactly how it should be. Stop looking to other people for validation or permission to chase the life you want. Instead, define success on your own terms and commit to becoming a little better every single day. I also share a personal story about my own journey—how I've learned to focus less on comparing myself to others and more on measuring my own progress. By striving to get just 1% better every day, I've been able to build confidence, stay disciplined, and continue moving toward the goals I've set for myself. At the end of the day, you don't need someone else to tell you you're doing a good job. You make the rules. You define success. You measure your own progress. If you're feeling discouraged, comparing yourself to everyone around you, or wondering if you're on the right path, this episode is your reminder to keep showing up, trust your journey, and never give up on yourself. Because you only fail when you decide to quit. 3 EASY STEPS TO BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE TODAY | EP. 234

Confidence isn't something you're born with. It's something you build WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION!. In Episode 234 of The Positivity Hour, I break down the 3 simple steps that helped me build confidence in myself, my abilities, and my future. 1️⃣ Figure out what you want to do, where you want to go, and what the world needs. 2️⃣ Learn one or two things and be willing to try. 3️⃣ Get real-world experience and repeat the process. Sounds simple, but that's exactly how confidence is built. Not through motivation. Not through positive thinking. Through action. I also share my personal journey of building Darshaun Smith Productions from the ground up. There were plenty of moments where I doubted myself, questioned the process, and wondered if all the hard work would ever pay off. But by continuing to learn, show up, and put myself out there, I've been able to grow both personally and professionally. This year is shaping up to be the first year my business turns a profit, and that didn't happen because I had all the answers. It happened because I kept building confidence through experience and refused to give up. If you've been waiting until you feel confident enough to start, this episode is your reminder that confidence comes after action—not before it. 🎙️ Episode 234 of The Positivity Hour is available now. #ThePositivityHour #ThePositivityGod #Confidence #SelfImprovement #PersonalGrowth #Mindset #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness #DarshaunSmithProductions #Motivation #Success #KeepGoing #growthmindsetjourney TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 INTRO (THANKS FOR BEING HERE) 0:31 THE 3 STEPS ARE... 2:21 WHAT IS CONFIDENCE AND WHY DOES IT MATTER? 7:47 HOW DO YOU BUILD CONFIDENCE? 11:33 3 STEPS TO BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE UP EXTENDED 17:02 HOW I PERSONALLY HAVE BEEN USING THESE 3 STEPS TO GROWN MY BUSINESS! 25:08 MORAL OF THE STORY: NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR DREAMS 28:39 OUTRO (THANKS FOR BEING HERE TODAY) VISIT MY WEBSITE TODAY: And book a shoot!! https://www.dsmithproductions.com/ VIEW ALL MY SOCIAL LINKS: https://linktr.ee/The_positivity_god Now do yourself a favor and like, subscribe, dislike, unsubscribe, hate comment, share, or report, I don't care what you do, as long as you are staying positive at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. The Mindset of Champions: Winning Isn't Luck, It's a Choice | EP. 233

In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I talk about one of the biggest lessons I've learned from studying successful people, athletes, and leaders: winners find a way. When you truly want something, you'll do whatever it takes to make it happen. You'll adapt, adjust, learn, and keep pushing forward no matter how difficult the journey becomes. I start by discussing Lewis Hamilton and what it meant for him to secure his first race win with Scuderia Ferrari. After years of success, changing teams brought new expectations, new challenges, and a new environment. His journey serves as a reminder that even the greatest competitors still have to prove themselves and continue finding ways to win. I also spend a majority of this episode talking about Jalen Brunson and the championship journey of the New York Knicks. We dive into the adversity, setbacks, pressure, and obstacles they had to overcome on their path to the top. Their story highlights a simple truth: champions aren't defined by how easy their road is—they're defined by how they respond when things get difficult. Throughout the episode, I connect these stories back to our own lives. Whether you're building a business, pursuing a dream, improving your health, or chasing a personal goal, the same principle applies: If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way. Success isn't reserved for the most talented people. It's often earned by the people who refuse to quit, keep learning, and continue showing up when everyone else gives up. If you've been facing challenges, setbacks, or moments of doubt, this episode is your reminder that adversity is not the end of the story—it's often the beginning of your breakthrough. Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep finding a way. 🎙️💪 WATCH THE KNICKS HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQPbdoRZYY8 WATCH LEWIS WIN HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey8j_BlLvFM TIMESTAMPS: O:00 INTRO 0:11 LEWIS HAMILTON WON FIRST RACE FOR FERRARI 2:46 THE KNICKS FOUND A WAY TO WIN BABY (WINNER'S WIN) 16:21 VICTOR NEEDS TO EAT A HUMBAL PILL 18:55 IT'S YOU VS YOU AT THE END OF THE DAY (FIND A WAY TO WIN) 23:44 SAY IT WITH ME GUYS, "WINNER'S WIN" VISIT MY WEBSITE TODAY: And book a shoot!! https://www.dsmithproductions.com/ VIEW ALL MY SOCIAL LINKS: https://linktr.ee/The_positivity_god Now do yourself a favor and like, subscribe, dislike, unsubscribe, hate comment, share, or report, I don't care what you do, as long as you are staying positive at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. How I Beat My Quarter-Life Crisis | EP. 232

In this episode of The Positivity Hour, I share the three action steps that helped me work through my quarter-life crisis and regain control of my life. There was a time when I felt lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of where I was headed. Like many people, I found myself questioning my decisions, my future, and whether all the hard work I was putting in would ever pay off. But through that struggle, I discovered three powerful lessons that completely changed my perspective. 1. Submit to the work. There are no shortcuts. If you truly want something, you have to be willing to do the work required to make it happen. Success isn't about finding the easy path—it's about staying committed to the process. 2. Cut out the noise. Everyone has an opinion about your life, your goals, and what you should be doing. At some point, you have to stop listening to every outside voice and start trusting your own judgment. 3. You can't lose if you never give up. The only guaranteed way to fail is to quit. As long as you keep showing up, learning, adjusting, and moving forward, you're still in the game. Throughout the episode, I share personal experiences from my own journey and explain how these principles helped me push through uncertainty, stay focused on my goals, and continue building the life I want. At the end of the day, the biggest lesson I learned is simple: Your life is what you make it. No matter where you are right now, you have the ability to create a future that excites you. It won't happen overnight, and it won't always be easy—but if you're willing to put in the work, tune out the noise, and refuse to quit, amazing things can happen. If you've been feeling stuck, discouraged, or uncertain about your path, this episode is for you. Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep building. You've got this. 💪🎙️ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 INTRO 1:10 WELCOME TO THE PODCAST 2:10 TIME CAPSULE (LET'S TALK ABOUT THE WORLD TODAY) 5:30 MAIN TOPIC / LET'S GET PERSONAL ALL-IN-ONE 25:08 WISDOME FROM AN OG (YOUR LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT SO KEEP PUSHING GUYS! 26:26 OUTRO!
