    Something Michigan: At Least "That Woman" (Governor Whitmer) is Letting Us Vote- Analysis of Whitmer's Executive Orders

    The Progressive Michigander 4/11/20 Episode 4 Part 3  Analyzes the recent executive orders by Governor Whitmer of Michigan including the absentee voting executive order for the May 5th elections.   Discusses the possible motivations for the series of executive orders that Governor Whitmer has made, some of which have featured odd restrictions and loopholes that seem to be the result of lobbying by certain industries.    Discusses how the Executive Orders make exceptions for Churches, Liquor Stores, Lottery Tickets, and Car Dealership Remote Sales. Also Discuses further crackdowns on Lawn Maintenance Equipment Sales, the Sale of Paint, and people traveling between residences.   Looks for signs of opposition from the State House and Senate including State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey(R), State Representative Triston Cole, the hashtag Impeach Whitmer trending on Twitter, and a Change.org petition for the recall of Gov. Whitmer which has exceeded 90,000 signatures.   Discusses the possibility that the way Governor Whitmer has angled to be Joe Biden's pick for Vice Presidential Nominee may be impacting the reception of these executive orders by the public.

    Something New: Trump's Flawed But Impactful Ad- An Analysis

    The Progressive Michigander 4/11/20 Episode 4 Part 2 Analyzes the first attack advertisement of the General Election, Donald Trump's ad attacking Biden on being soft on China. Cites Rising's coverage for alerting me to the ad.    Addresses media criticism of the ad by the Washington Post, USA, and CNN. The media has legitimately criticized the ad for clipping a line from Joe Biden about European travel bans to make it sound as thought the clip was about China. Media criticism has also focused on a very short image of Gary Locke. This video acknowledges that the clip showing him was flawed and should not have featured him since it gives the impression that the person pictured is a Chinese Official.  However, this piece criticizes some of the more over the top critiques from USA Today which suggested that the ad questioned whether Asian Americans are loyal to the country and the Washington Post that said the ad attempted to make it look as though Biden were bowing to the Chinese.     Something Big: Joining the 90 Thousand- Why I May Leave the Presidential Line Blank

    The Progressive Michigander Podcast 4/11/20 Episode 4 Part 1  Recaps how the Bernie Sanders campaign ended, discusses some explanations for its failure, and then addresses the decision that progressives have to make in voting for Biden, voting third party, or not voting on the Presidential line.    Discusses the consent model of voting using a brief video clip of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(AOC) where she famously noted that non-voters are not lazy, they just do not want to consent to be governed by nonsense.    Further, uses a clip from Democracy for America where Michael Moore discussed the 90,000 Michiganders who voted in 2016 but left the Presidential line blank.

    The Progressive Michigander Episode 3 Something Big examines the very different media treatment of Christian Smalls and Captain Crozier when they blew the whistle on Coronavirus coverups by Amazon and the US Navy respectively.  Something New looked into why Joe Biden and Donald Trump are united in their desire to see the Wisconsin elections go forward on Tuesday 4/6 despite the massive health risk. Sorry for the mispronunciation of Governor Evers name.  Something Michigan looked at the legacy of Michigan State Representative Isaac Robinson who died from the Coronavirus.

    The Progressive Michigander Episode 2 The Introduction previews the other segments and discusses the Tara Reade allegations and the Time's Up cover up relying on the reporting of the Intercept and interviews by Katie Halper and by The Hill's Rising with Krystal and Saagar.  Something Big analyzes the major shortfalls of the final Phase 3 Stimulus Bill for the Coronavirus.  Something New situates GM's pitiful rate of ventilator production in the context of the response to World War II.  Something Michigan discusses Governor Whitmer's spat with Donald Trump and her ongoing efforts to be Joe Biden's Vice Presidential Nominee.
