A different approach to interacting with your clients w/ Sean Kelly

Join me this week as I interview Sean Kelly, Vice President & Financial Advisor @ Heffernan Retirement Services in California.  We discuss Sean's unique approach to interacting with clients - especially in a time of COVID-19.  How does Sean use chickens & eggs to educate his clients? Listen now to find out.  Connect with Sean via the links below. Sean LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/seankellyfiduciary/ Heffernan Retirement Services LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/heffernan-insurance-brokers/ Heffernan Retirement Services Web Page - https://www.heffgroupfs.com/ So at Heffernan, you know, we're so I mentioned, I joined the Air Force group, and we're, our have Heffernan financial services. We're a division of the Heffernan group. So we also have a large Insurance Brokerage arm. So there's been a lot of different experiences, you know, with COVID. We have 450 employees nationwide. And just, you know, too many clients to count. So, you know, we're trying to support and serve them, you know, in this kind of unprecedented time and being a full service financial advisory firm. You know, we have team members in Orange County, Northern California, Seattle, Oregon, Arizona, Missouri in New York. And so, you know, our type of client is is just different, right? We have manufacturing, we have nonprofits, we have retail, we have restaurants, just because we're, we're kind of, you know, we have a pretty big footprint now, but being in the retirement plan industry for, you know, 30 years, when you look at all the advisors in our group, we have, you know, a much larger combined number of years experience but at the Heffernan Financial Services Division specifically, we've been in this business for over 30 years so so we've seen a lot is the reason I bring that up, you know, we haven't seen COVID we haven't seen a health crisis pandemic like this, but we have seen ups and downs and, you know, I have talked to so many participants over the years that we, you know, kind of created a process at the beginning of this to deal with it. And we also leveraged global retirement partners. You know, that's our registered investment advisor. And it's only retirement plan advisors. So we get to leverage that brain trust of all these other men and women across the country who are dealing with the same thing. So, you know, what we've done really is become behavioral psychologists, more than financial advisors. And, you know, what I mean by that is, you know, we the calls we're getting, which is a lot from employees of our clients, you know, is really just how to handle this market volatility, not only in their 401k or their 403 B, or their nonqualified deferred comp plan or whatever we're helping them with but just in their lives in general, you know, maybe their hours were cut. Maybe they're not able to make a mortgage payment. Maybe their credit card just keeps going up and they can't get a handle on it. And all of those types of aspects of a person's financial life really tend to sort of bubbled to the surface in a crisis, like we're experiencing in a market decline, like, as we've seen.  #retirement #finance #401k #employeebenefits #wealthmanagement #fianancialadvisor
