I follow Sheil wherever he goes. Easily one of the best NFL reporters in my lifetime. In my view he is our generations Ray Didinger. So I am approaching this as someone who is an established fan of his work. My predisposition for anything he is associated with is to be overwhelmingly positive. That said.. First the good — The recent departure of EJ to PHLY and replacing him with ZBerm is a full blown GRAND SLAM. I’m not saying EJ is terrible. He’s not. He’s ok. But he’s not even on the same planet as ZBerm. Couldn’t possibly be more thrilled for this. Now the not so good — Shawn Syed is absolutely terrible. Brutal. Fully convinced of his own wit, brilliance, intelligence, and charm.. while being so thoroughly blinded by arrogance he’s incapable and/or unwilling to grasp the fact that he’s not any of those things. None of them. Zero. There have been at least 10x over the past year or so where he is so insufferably obnoxious I’m forced to turn it off.. even though the topic is something I want to hear discussed. There is no doubt in my mind Sheil notices it too. I pray he does something about it soon.
