How to Take Responsibility for Your Own Healing with Anthony from The Sugar Treatment

    Happy Tuesday, Self Lover!
Is it Tuesday when you’re listening? If not, happy whatever day you are able to listen – I am always glad to have you!
Today we have the very sweet insights from Anthony, my new bestie who runs all the things that are The Sugar Treatment.
Like so many during quarantine, Anthony found comfort and purpose in baking. However, since he is also a social worker, he found a way to combine baking AND messages of love and healing. If that wasn’t enough, Anthony also shows ways to make all of our favorite sweet treats healthier.
Anthony shares his own personal journey with healing – and how he learned the hard way how important it is to take responsibility for yourself. In the end, you get to be the hero of your own story!
I can't wait to hear how much you enjoyed this one!

The Value of Listening to Understand vs Listening to Respond with Sharon McMahon

The Value of Listening to Understand vs Listening to Respond with Sharon McMahon

Well hello, Self Lover! How YOU doin’?
This week we have a very special guest who is just in time to calm all of our nerves about all of the newsworthy things happening in our world.
Let's all take a collective deep breath and welcome Sharon McMahon! You may know her from her very informative Instagram stories and posts, which are notorious for giving non-partisan information about what’s happening around us.
As a government teacher, Sharon has mastered the art of having hard conversations with people about…well, government. Politics is one of those taboo topics that often gets skipped over during lunch meetings, but she’s sharing with us the importance of understanding someone else’s point of view, and gives pointers on how to (you guessed it) listen to understand, rather than listen to respond.
This message is so important, and I hope it helps you as much as it helped me!

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:
(6:11) What does it mean to listen to understand (vs. listening to respond)?
(12:25) Managing self care when you have a large community of followers
(30:10) Why your feelings are not always the truth
(39:36) What are some steps we can take to help bridge the gap in our divided nation?

He does it again!

I don’t know how this keeps happening, but it seems like these episodes come out exactly when I need them the most. At least once every episode I seem to have an aha moment! I love this podcast - this is a must listen.

The Real Deal

I’ve dropped down a rabbit hole of figuring out how to love myself as I’m going through a divorce and realizing I haven’t done it, and forgot how, for the ten years I was married. I found Paul through another podcast and his work is the real deal. Everything from his authentic message to his transparency with finances makes me feel so much less alone and so ready to grow into the next and hopefully best version of myself. He makes me never want to settle in love ever again. Thanks for helping me remember what I deserve in a relationship and in life. Wishing you massive success Paul!
